I'm innocently killing evil monsters, my alignment is about 78 and everyone's getting suspicious at me. How do I make them like me better? I want to try and keep people in my party. Does it really work when you give them certain things?
some followers have a bribe option. if their reaction to you is below a certain level, 20 IIRC, you get a dialog option to ask what would help make things better. they will tell you what they want and you can give it to them to improve their reaction. i think someone has posted a list of all followers and their bribes here somewhere. if you cant find it, i or someone else will post one.
Don't worry untill it gets near that 20 mark, then put on Barbarian or Dread Armor & ask them what the matter is. Or steal & wear the Jewel of Hebe.
Yes, but remember someday you have to take it out and the reaction could drop badly. I used the ring of influence to radically raise my haggle and persuasion; then I went to Madam Lil to train me as an expert in persuasion... for some reason when I took out the ring and my persuasion dropped, everyone in the edifice attacked me! :-o I'd say, use things to drop the reaction and then raise it with the bribe; when you take out whatever you were using, the reaction will be even higher than before!
