Q., against all the odds, I think you have a point. Everytime I go to IRC, there are 5 or so people apparently online, but they never respond to anything.

Even when you can attract the attention from one of them, you just KNOW they're multiplexing, because there's like a 30 second extra delay before every reply, while they alt-tab through their 4 windows.

Personally, I only ever go there when I fancy a conversation with some mates. If I turn up and people have that pre-occupied feel (like an overused public convenience), I just leave.

This is the whole problem, DU. According to the clock you just posted, Adelaide is 8.5 hours ahead of London. That means 10.00 am for you is 01.30 am for me. Since I am what's laughably known as a working man, I'm generally in bed by midnight (8.30am to you).

If we were going to meet (weekdays) it would have to start no earlier than 6.00pm (2.30am to you) and end no later than midnight. In other words - it ain't gonna happen. I'm happy to just chug along posting here when it's convenient, as I've been doing so far. It'd be nice if some of the others were still interested in it, too, but that's life. I'll just muddle through with the rest of the die-hards until spam reaches saturation or Jar graduates - whichever comes first.

 

Fatman, that might happen sooner than you think :smile:. I'm looking at getting into this scheme at uni where you take a year off your degree, and get a year's paid work experience, which is a pretty sweet deal. Trouble is, I'd find getting back into study hard.

I'm on IRC as well fairly often, Sheriff, so you can't really say it isn't an option. I'm always up for a conversation.

 

Even I have gotten on #arcanum and #ta-regulars lately. 'bout the only people I ain't seen is Sheriff Fatman, Dark Underlord, and Jarinor.

I am probably ONE of the oldest posters here (no not in age, I'm actually probaly ONE of the youngest CHRONOLOGICALLY) but only remember you just before I quit because no one liked me, now I doubt anyone here gives a rats arse about except YEA YEA and thats because I think his .... Interest in his girl is tolerable.
But I used to be a right spamming bastard and I recieved at least 1 letter a day from Calis a day telling me to shut up (this was a long time ago, when Zen was young and had a vampire picture as well as a moderater called Osanara or something, anyway Calis was a lot more active in the forums back then) but anyway I was a big Jackass and no one liked me if anyone bothers to look in the VAULT OF FOLLY! they may find some of my useless topics (There was this one gay guy who everyone though was gay (proper gay) and I used to really annoy him and I made topics declarin Calis a hippy hater and so on) anyway I had the same attitude as Quethim, but everyone thought I was a college student for some reason so it wasn't my age. It was because I was a jackass. Quethim no one likes you (someone probably does) is because you are total spam ,you should have the spam avatar, This whole thing is a huge hunk of spam ,I don't post much, but not because I rarely go here but because I am far more reserved, I come here daily and I'd be lucky to post more than 3 times a week, So I am asking you to stop winging before I hit you with a stick you young swipper napper you!
