The Russians are still bitter about being ruled by a Georgian so they won't give up.

When Russian troops entered South Ossetia I erroneously thought that Georgia was already a member of NATO and not merely an applicant for membership. Now, only time can tell whether the showdown that never happened during the Cold War will be realised or not.

Meanwhile, I'm fairly sure my government will do what they've always done during World Wars. Sell weapons to both sides during the conflict and then secure the rebuilding contracts during the aftermath.

I'd love it if it didn't imply cowardice.

Where the hell is "Gregoria"? Is that on another planet? Have the Soviets advanced so far that they are invading other planets now?

Oh, wait... you meant, "Georgia!" My bad.

Russia is clearly moving towards rebuilding the Soviet Union. That's why Georgia has not been admitted into NATO, because war between Georgia and Russia would mean war between NATO and Russia. Both sides know this, and nobody wants that scenario. Yet.

As is the way of the world these days, there will be a great deal of talk and condemning of Russian aggression, but nothing will be done about the invasion until it is over and the Georgian government has been toppled. Once Georgia has been absorbed into Russia, then maybe the U.S. will take a stance against any further expansion for fear of a return of the communist threat of the Cold War. Maybe not. Depends on who gets elected in the presidential race.

Obama would have us licking the boots of the Soviets.

Oh, and your question is broken. Obviously the Georgians aren't going anywhere. They live in Georgia. That's why they're called Georgians. Perhaps you meant, "Should the Russians pull out of Georgia?"

Well, a person from my class is Russian, and he told me that many countries are being very biased with regards to the media, and that they are being very one-sided.

Apparently, the people of the region who want independence wish to be part of Russia, and apparently Russia built schools and hospitals there (only to end up getting bombed), and 90% of the people there have Russian passports.

Personally though, I have little knowlege of what's going on there, and my friend is probably biased, but he is hearing both sides of the story.

Neither do I, infact if any animals can be pulverised and punished and ground into makeup to make your woman shut up for 5 minutes and look better it goes towards a much bigger cause.

I love the 'tragic' stories about race horses that get injured and sent to the knackers to be turned into glue.

BTW, Georgia is still claiming that Russian forces are inside their borders. We'll see who's telling the truth eventually. The Russians probably just agreed to a ceasefire so they could bring in even more fire power.

Hm, you just gave me an idea of what to do with all the reindeer horns that I have scrapping around the place.

What Russia lacks in quality, they sure make up for in sheer quantity. They may not have Apocalypse tanks in the real world, which is probably a blessing, but while any decent western tank could likely take out a battalion of Russian ones, they simply can't carry enough ammo to deal with Soviet Zerg Swarm tactics.

That's why more and more vehicles are being outfitted with miniguns these days.

    ...to kill the zerg.

Either you're Canadian instead of Irish, or you have trouble reading.

I'm actually half Canadian-half Irish (I have a dual nationality, my genetics are half of each and I have spent approximately half my life in each country).

But are you slagging the Canadians?

Anyways, I was just conveying my interest. I'm a StarCraft player.

Just as a note to everyone: what I was doing only works well if used when a conversation is already happening between some individuals.

I wouldn't say it worked well even under those circumstances.
