    What is a fun tech character? I have beaten the game with various magickal and a basher character, but I haven't found being a tech character to be very much fun. Could you make some suggestions?

    Techie who uses guns, prowling and lockpick with no followers. They're fun if you like killing things without being seen.

    Super massive army of automatons techie - guess.

    Throwing techie. Get throwing, explosives and chemitry. You'll be able to kill almost anything, that which you can't kill can be put to sleep or paralysed.

    Lets be lame and hope to have loads of ram techie - get lots of followers and give them all mechanised plate, helmet of vison, pyro axe and magic disruptor shield.

    A current favorite, 1/2 Orc female, Miracle Opperation as a gunslinger. Starting stats. ST, CN , DX 5, BE 6, IN 11, WP 8, PE 13, CH 9. Studing Gunsmithy & Electric for the Tesla Gun. Personal quest; build every gun in the game.

    I start her with 1 in DX, mele, & dodge. Next comes persuasion & pickpocket for Shrouded Hills & firearms while there. The charged rings are handy early, but the guns can wait for later. The only stats I push are PE & CH. Doc Roberts gives her her first gun & Expert training before she leaves Shrouded Hills. I get Sog & Jayna ASAP. Aquire the Jewel of Hebe.

    Is it just me, or does anyone else feel that all of the guns you can make are way underrated to the hand cannon - and you can get that item for free in the boil. I made a tech gunslinger, got every gun out there - including all the found schematics(yes, took forever), and they where all LAME except for the hand cannon and at the very end, the vendigroth gun. ( which you only use for a short time before the game ends).

    I mean, why waste the exp points in all of this if you just go and get the darn cannon?

    Yes, elephant gun is the one other that does a little more damage , but its two handed ( no shield/light/trap finder) and its slower (less attacks).

    I am rerunning the game, and trying to do a split half tech-half magic guy.
    It's working ok so far( at isle of despair), but it can be a pain when only half your items work correctly at any given time.
    Anyways, Get automatons ! and arachnids, and eecoy's - they not only work well, but they are so much fun. Just be sure to get your repair skill to 3 at least.

    You can steal better guns than you can make for a long time, but building every gun in the gane is worthwile by itself. Try the Mechinized Gun, the Charged Accelerator Gun, Bronwicks's Gun, & the Tesla Gun. Or steal a Hand Cannon At level 7 & a LGR at level 10 & you realy don't need much else. Except for the Sharpshoter's Pistol which can also be stolen.

    First, I have had all of the guns myself, and none was really worth it to put the points into In and the expertise.
    I agree that the best guns can be stolen/robbed in the game - so why again put the points into the tech firearms discpline?

    If you really must have a certain gun, then just add it to the invensource.mes of the gunsmithy and pay out the rear for it ( unless it's one of the few that can't be sold --OT, What is the restraint in the code that makes certain items crash the shopkeepers if they have them in their inventory? Any ideas?)
