Evanesence is overrated, like most bands.

Not the Butthole Surfers though, they are highly underratd.

 

Evanescence is vastly greater than Butthole Surfers, who are overrated.
Evanescence is really entirely about how awsome the lead singer's voice is, that really decides what you think of them.

No military has ever fought for anyone's freedoms, ever. They have fought for economic reasons, and freedoms were a side effect. Don't believe the bullshit the american military says. We have never had a war wherein any real freedoms were defended directly.

Also, Evanescence suck. I've stopped listening to the radio because everything on it is really shitty these days. Well, nearly everything, but I'm not going to listen to 3 hours of hip hop for one good song.

 

Evanesence is a shitty rock band with a gothy pop aria for a lead singer.

The Butthole Surfers are the most intensely psychologically offensive live show you will ever see. May be you should stop listening to the radio ("Oh I dont listen to the radio! (I just buy whatevers in the new releases rack at Best Buy!)": sorry thats not a worthy come back) and stop paying attention to sub par radio singles, (though Pepper, and Detatchable Penis are far from sub par as far as any other band is concerned) and go to some local shows. If there aren't any clubs nearby then try web sites... http://www.punkcast.com is a good example. I'd guess you'd like the Darediablos, they're about halfway down. My favorites would be GBH, and The Adicts.

 

Evanescence is a bad bad band. Never heard of the Butthole Surfers or Detatchable Penis though.

 

Detachable Penis is not a band it's a song by King missile. It's not even that good or funny, which i'm assuming was the point of the "song", I use the " " as there's no singing as the lyric's are spoken except for the background singers. Overall you get the impression it was done highschool students trying to impress with their word play.

 

HOLY CRAP! You're right! I've thought that song was by the butthole surfers since 1997, I feel like such a fool. It wasn't even my favorite BH Surfers song anyway oh well. Still, Pepper is an excellent song in my opinionm ad the BH Surfers are a really good band.

 

Pepper is a really good song...I don't know many from TBS, but it'd have to be my favourite of the ones I've heard.

I also like Detachable Penis, although not for any reason I can list. Nostalgia, novelty value, and humourous concept would cover most of the reasons though.

 

I was kind of lucky that I lived in Texas when Pepper was a radio single, and the Butthole Surfers were a little more popular. They're from Texas, so they got more airplay on the alternative radio stations than they did in other places I've lived, the Toadies are another good Texas band I got to hear more of thanks to the local radio station, too bad that was the best thing about it.

The cool thing about Detachable Penis is that I knew a guy in California whose normal conversation voice sounds exactly like the guy "talking" that song, it wasn't really that amazing so much as it was just a cool coincidence.
