It's all about alignment... You see, I'm Neutral Good. It means that while I strive to keep balance, I'm mostly behind the good guys. Monkey is a perfect example of Chaotic Good. He doesn't care much about the rules as long as it doesn't blatantly hurt anybody. Jarinor on the other hand is... Chaotic Neutral. He doesn't care about anybody and spends most of his time clicking on the ban button, listening to that successful *click*.

I'm Lawful Good, because I'm a sweetheart, and even if somebody on the forum pisses me off, I generally don't flame. I'm the forum's pet, even grumpy Jar Jar likes me. Wheeeeee!

    Here are some simple instructions.
    1. Don't be an idiot, it is merely BBCode in your signature.
    2. Click on the Button labeled profile
    3. Scroll down near the bottom of your profile, and you will see a box for your signature.
    4. enter in there <img>URL_OF_IMAGE<img>, using [ instead of < and ] instead of >. This happens to be the EXACT SAME as putting a message in a post.

    It's like this:

    Code:
    [img]http://homepage.mac.com/jubei1/guys/jubei4.jpg[/img]
EDIT: Or, as you keep changing things, like this:

    Code:
    [img]http://kathyreichs.com/images/flag_slovakia.gif[/img]
EDIT ONCE MORE: Perhaps, being so fond of change, you could change it yet again? It's a little, well, large and distracting.

Since this is my thread(or was when it started) then I would like to ask if anyone has played the Myst series games? I am enthralled with the first: Myst(masterpiece edition) and am wondering if the others are worth the money and subsequent time to play them!? They seem interesting enough to buy, but want some opinions before investing the fruits of my labor. Thanx!

I'd expect an Eastern European to drink Vodka. By the same token, as an Italian I prefer wine to beer. Bolla Soave is my favorite, my Grandpa always bought that in New Jersey. Francis Coppola Sebastiani is great, too. I just had a couple of glasses for Thanksgiving dinner. Going back to the food thread, I also made a tasty dessert called Salame al Ciocolatto. Which, of course, means Chocolate Salami. It's basically a chilled log of bittersweet chocolate, crushed butter cookies, Ameretto, and slivered almonds. Good, good stuff.
EDIT: I just had to add that I'm eating the salame and a slice of my sister's delectable macaroon pie at this very moment, and if anyone wants the recipies, I'll post them.

Well, we have a dessert here - "salchichón de chocolate" we call it. The name basically means Chocolate Sausage, and it's like the one you described, only without liquor nor almonds. It still tastes great though...

So you know where is Slovakia located? me don't like when some folk, tells me, me'm Eastern European. Try to take European map, tear it apart and you will find out that my beloved home is on each piece.
me don't know if me wrote it understandable - SK is in very centre of Yurop. me'll forgive you this inacuration :) (me'm unsure of this word). Btw.: Slovakia is a beer nation, many beers are bottled here, but "weak" as Budweiser (bottled in neighborhood). You'd be suprised, but in my country, me'm exception. Sometimes me drink beer, but only this:

While of course you are right as to the location of your country, I believe it is still considered a part of Eastern Europe, simply for the sake of classification. RP, I'll post the Salame al Ciocolatto recipie when it isn't 2 in the morning and I don't have a Spanish presentation on Simon Bolivar due at 10 the same morning.

It's only Eatern Europe because it used to be behind the Iron Curtain. But Czechs, Slovaks, Hungarians, and Poles are pretty adamant that they are Central Europe. And, as Prague is considerably west of Vienna, which is considered Western Europe, I'd be hard pressed to disagree with them. Besides, except for the short communist period, the history of that part of Europe is far more connected with Central Europe (Prussia, Austro-Hungarian Empire NOT Ottoman like Vienna) than Eastern Europe, i.e. Bulgaria, Russia, etc.

    EDIT: I should formalize.

Prosim, Tholtan. Ale, nemyslite ze cesky pivo, konkretni Bernard, je lepsi nez Slovenki pivo? Myslim ze jo. Ale, Slovenski hruskovice a sllivovice je moc lepsi nez druh cesky.

I apologize for my grammar, but it's no worse than yours in English. :)

Sig I truly look forward to your recipe. In the meantime, I am compiling a list of three or four simple recipes that would be fairly cheap and be excellently suited to a date/romantic evening.

    Salame al Cioccolato

    Ingredients
    24 butter cookies, broken
12 oz bittersweet or plain chocolate,
    broken into squares
    2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
    1/4 cup amaretto liqueur
    2 egg yolks
1/2 cup slivered almonds, lightly toasted
    1/4 cup ground almonds
    Serves 8-12

    1. Place the cookies in a plastic bag and coarsely crush with a rolling pin.

    2. Place the chocolate in a large heatproof bowl. Place the bowl over a saucepan of barely simmering water, add a small chunk of the butter and all the amaretto until the chocolate melts, stirring occasionally.

    3. Remove the bowl from the heat, let the chocolate cool for a minute or two, then stir in the egg yolks followed by the remaining butter, a little at a time. Pour in most of the crushed cookies, leaving behind a good handful, and stir well to mix. Stir in the almonds. Set aside the mixture in a cold place for about 1 hour, until it begins to stiffen.

    4. Grind the remaining cookie crumbs finely. Pour into a bowl and mix with the ground almonds. Cover and set aside until serving time.

    5. Transfer the chocolate and cookie mixture to a sheet of lightly oiled waxed paper, then shape into a 14-in sausage with a spatula, tapering the ends slightly so the roll looks like a salami. Wrap in paper and freeze for at least 3 hours, until solid.

    6. To serve, unwrap the "salami." Spread the ground cookies and almonds out on a clean sheet of waxed paper and roll the "salami" in them until evenly coated. Transfer to a board and let stand for about one hour before serving in slices.

Note: If you don't like a bitter flavor, you can use semisweet chocolate instead of the bittersweet.

hey Sig I am going to try and give that recipe to my chef on tuesday. I just started working desserts on wednesday, so I would like to see if that idea would pass for something that we could make. although it would have to be served the next day as we only have 3 and 1/2 hrs to prep for lunch. but I would love to try and make it on someone else's $$ before I try it at home (that way I can tweek it to my own liking and get it just right with my $$)
