hes definitly evil and he tells me he can't follow the goody two shoes adventuring. I gotta play evil sometime, or at least start agame and play awhile. Parmanian
Some people have reported that he attacks you on sight if you come through the door at a run, but that's never happened to me. I've also heard that if you've got some mod he'll attack you if you've got Virgil with you, since the mod makes Virgil a paladin. (I know, whatever. )
Virgil a Paladin.................. now that is a laugh, thanks for the smile on my face. I know that virg is a little bit different, but how do people start the game and NOT even notice him? Parmanian
onder: Some people have an incomplete installation of the game without knowing it. Characters, objects, etc. end up missing, and the new player has no way of knowing something's wrong. Reinstallation or repair is in order. If I'm thinking of the right mod, not only is Virgil a paladin who levels like a guard, but he also lives in his own little house near the crash site with a woman who may or may not be his girlfriend. I don't like it when Virgil gets messed with. :x
I don't like Virgil period. At best he's a slightly helpful healer, at worst he's completely frickin' useless. And I've never gotten him to transform in the basement of the sobbing onion.
Of course you're entitled to your opinion, but in fact Virgil is an excellent healer who uses magick, bandages, potions, and salves with great efficiency. I've never had a problem with his healing skills. Additionally he's a good fighter (especially with the arcane staff), has an excellent story, and is voiced. Perhaps not the ideal follower for the Unstoppable Tank of Powergaming Death, but as a character in a roleplaying game he's superb. Transform? Into what? Optimus Prime???
i don't think i have because of the fact i could get him before, i just wonder how i can stop him from attacking me.
Do NOT walk through his door in RTC mode. It is easy to forget to turn it off, unlike TBC mode. Other than that, I don't know why a crumbling skelliton with a glass jaw & a life wish, would attack a flea. He has never come after me so I don't know what triggers it. Yes, I have gone in with a 100% goody two shoes.
ok so you say i must use turn based combat mode? or do you say i must use real time combat mode? :-? i got kind of confused :-?
Don't walk through the door in any kind of combat mode at all, I think that's what he was saying. The other scheme is the Zen Virgil scheme, and I don't think it's used post-patch. However, if you remove the level cap I think Virgil will start learning black necro, which is included in the Zen Virgil scheme. Anyway, if you're patched and unmodded don't worry about it. Virgil's still Virgil, except he no longer seems bothered by the suffering of his many victims. Whether that's an improvement is a matter of opinion.
Yeah, he is attacking me this time, too. I probably have an incomplete installation this time and something at the end of the game will mess up and I will have to restart  . If that happens, I'll... I'll.... probably post about it here
Use the repair option on the install disk. It will fix all saved games from the point of repair. I was trying to say that it is hard to forget you are in Turn Based Combat mode, but easy to forget you are in Real Time Combat mode. But what I meant was just what you said. You can't talk to people in combat mode, & they may be disinclined to listen.
I got him when my alignment was 3. So you don't have to be completely evil. I was in running always mode and he never attacked me.
well now i have been trying arund with your answers, and found that he WILL NOT attack you i you go in WITHOUT beeing in combat mode.
