First, create a listing for the new area in rules/townmap.mes. Then use WorldEd and go to the place you're wanting to generate the map for. Right-click on a spot inside the new area and select townmap. After you've assigned a name to the new area and saved, repeat the right-click and choose Generate data. This will create your townmap.
Ok, I did that, and it worked, but: How can I increase the amount of squares it calculates? Currently it doesn't generate even half of the town. edit: might as well ask this since i've been wondering for a while. what is the last used script number by Troika? which script number did you start with for dialogs in your mod? i'm asking because i think i used some pre-existing script numbers and may have completely messed up some stuff.
Ooo.... This is one of those problems I haven't run into and I'm at a loss to suggest a solution for. Sorry. All I can think of is: Go back and double-check everything again. Do all the sectors have the right listing for the townmap? Did I inadvertly check the "Block on world map" option? (right-click to see) If both of these are good to go, delete the existing botched townmap and create a new one. Good luck. The scr numbers: Troika stopped at 30303 and the UAP bumped that up to 30316, so starting your scrs at 30350 or even 30400 should be safe. This'll give plenty of room for any more restored or customized items that may come along.
I'm dumb. I didn't know that you had to do the generate thing for each sector. ahaha, thanks rroyo. (I feel really embarrassed for making such a stupid mistake.) good point, i think i'll go with 30400. thanks!
Glad to hear you got the townmaps worked out! uh..... You're not the first one to think that...... Thankfully, I had a kid looking over my shoulder.
