Does anyone know how long gar would wait to rejoin? and if you wait to long you loose out on the fate point because he won't rejoin you for you to let him go.

If you have 20 Charisma he won't leave but if you don't have 20 Charisma he should leave the same time as your other followers unless there is a bug in the game that makes him not leave

I had Gar wait for my character for almost two days in Tarant because I only had the money to buy train tickets to Blackroot for myself, Virgil and Sogg (I had a charisma of 12) just to complete the short inn owner quest (I was leveling up to 10 by just 1052 more exp. points) to find Gar STILL WAITING, and coincidentally, I thought (after I had completed the quest and leveled 10) I wanted Gar instead to level up with me instead of Sogg, so I reloaded the game and this time left Sogg in Tarant for 2 days, and when I got back...? Correct, HE LEFT!

From this I have deduced that all NPCs have a set period of time they will wait for you before leaving, however there are some exceptions. If you have 20 charisma characters will wait for you indefinitely, and some characters will wait for you indefinitely despite your charisma level. I refer to those as 'loyal' or 'willing' followers, and those include Virgil, Gar, Raven,Loghaire, Jormund, Dog, Arronax, Chukka, and Smythe. Those whose will only wait for a limited time include Sogg, Magnus, Dante, Geoffrey, Al'urin, Rubin and Sebastian.

No, Gar never leaves, except when you continually commit evil acts, which goes against his person (which is good). Something of his waiting quote also suggests this, "I will be waiting for you to return, sir". Compare this to Magnus' "I'll wait here, but you'd best not take your time". Something of Gar's quotes and mannerisms endeared himself to me and I knew from the start that he was a 'loyal' follower just like Virgil who never leaves you, even if you chose to join the Dark Elves.

I have had Jormund vanish after waiting too long. BTW, a train ride is more than one day, check the date.

I was just starting a game (knife thrower) and I didn't want 20 in cha by lvl 15 like I had before, so I got it to 16 to get gar at lvl 9, I was changing my pattern of point distribution. i like the advantages of chukka over gar and If in the early part of the game, I am to have 9 followers instead of ten then thats to be decided (trying to keep all folowers the same level).

10 followers has been fun, but to get to 20 cha by lvl 15 or even 16, every game would basically be done in the same manner.

    decisions.......decisions.......decisions
