I said Warcraft3 The Frozen Throne is a good multiplayer game because you can ONLY play multiplayer games at the moment.
:D Sorry for being misleading and the full version is coming out 1 July 2003 which is less than a month left to wait.
Blizzard games are best when played in multiplayer. :x

    Games?

Arcanum is obviously at the top of my list (me having control over my hands, not being deaf or blind or mentally handicapped, and being a reasonably classy individual), but I have played other, lesser games. Diablo II (not the expansion) was kind of neat, but too violent. Mostly, I just enjoyed walking around with my army of skeletons. I never actually had to kill much. I enjoyed that. Necromancers rock. Speaking of diablo II, have ye read the books based off of the story? Two out of three of #'s 1-3 have been splendid. I wonder if anyone shall write novels within the realm of Arcanum. Wouldn't that be peachy?

    Well, aside from Arcanum...
If you feel like a good FPS, then I suggest AVP2 (Aliens vs. Predator 2), not the expansion. Just the regular game. Recently I have been playing that more than Arcanum. :)
I also highly recomend either Grand Theft Auto 3, or Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Both games can take a while to beat, and are loaded with lots of extra fun things to do. (Looking for all 100 secret packages can take a looooooong time.)

If you want a highly addictive, easy to play game, download Demonstar, or at least the 5-level demo.

As for others, I'd reccomend Operation Flashpoint for the military minded, and Shogun Total War for the RTS lover.

    Regards,
    Morden

    Re: Games?

If you didn't like it because it was hack-n-slash, then Arcanum IS for you.
You can actually pass the entire game without lifting a weapon, but it can get tough...

Well, there are a couple variations.

First, see how long you can get a girls panties to stay on the end of a fan blade. Ingredients: One girl, lying on a bed, naked but for her panties, one ceiling fan.

    • *Turn off fan, letting it come to complete stop.
      *Start timer.
*Whip out your member and jiggle it around in full view of girl.
*Once timer reaches 5 minutes, place girls panties on fan blade, and turn fan on high.
*More points the longer the panties stay on (Drier panties slip off faster)

Another variation is to have several girls (one girl for each blade of the fan) and whichever girls panties stay on the longest gets the pleasure of your company. Just kidding, other girls. You can join in too, sillies. Who's up for a spanking?

One last way requires an extremely heavy duty ceiling fan, and you can't be too heavy yourself. With groupies on knee-pads all around you in a circle, grab opposing fan blades. Have a groupie turn fan on high. Let your imagination take over from there.

Let me know how the fans at the restaurant work out. Have fun!

I'd say any fan that you're going to play helicopter man with would have to be heavy duty, to hold the weight of even one lucky girl¹, let alone several.

¹If you can consider being the girl in the game 'lucky'.

Or, for some, it may even have to be heavy duty for the panty play.

Xento, you seem to have my number. That's exactly what I didn't like about Diablo II.

The Diablo series also had classes of characters and each class only could only learn the abilitys of its class.
unlike Arcanum where you can learn any ability in the game you want and of coarse the races aspect of arcanum.
Also in Diablo2 you could only have 1 follower i think and there were not very many types of followers but in Arcanum you can use a lot more followers and there are many more types of followers to choice from and in Diablo2 you had to buy a follower unlike arcanum where they join for free.
also you had to pay huge amounts of money to bring your follower back to life in Diablo2.
these are just some of the reasons arcanum is better than diablo2 but unlike arcanum there is a second diablo.

    Hmmm....

If only there were a game as good as Arcanum and Diablo which employed a class system yet also allowed cross-class skills to be learned. HEY! Wait a tic. Dungeons and Dragons be the best game in the world.

Diablo 2 improved on diablo 1 which is good also Arcanum was made after Diablo 2 was made so it should be better than diablo2. 8)

You can't really compare Diablo and Arcanum like that. They are two completely different games. Diablo2 isn't really an RPG.

As for games I like at the moment:

Rise of Nations = One of the best strategy games I've played in a long time. Far superior to C&C generals IMO.

Mech Warrior 4: Mercinaries = Freestanding expansion. Lots of multiplayer fun, perticulary if you've never played the original.

Warcraft 3 is of course also very fun. And the expansion is just around the corner.

Morrowind is cool, and just like with WC3, The expansion will be out any day now.

All that I can think of at the moment.

    Re: Hmmm....

Cross-class? In Arcanum, there aren't really "classes". You are what you want by what you want to learn. Your race not only helps what you will turn out to be, but it also changes what you will turn out to DO, in some ways. Now, elves, for example, have a bonus to magickal aptitude, but can be made a technologist, if you wish, although it isn't very easy.

Dwarves have a bonus to technology, but can be mages if you wish. I wouldn't recommend it, though, because, from a bug or something, no matter your magickal aptitude for the dwarf, the spells will always cost double fatigue to cast.

The rest of the races can be whatever you want, although they all have bonuses and negatives to different stats, such as intelligence, strength, perception, etc.

    Re: Hmmm....

I don't think that's what was said. I believe Xan wishes for a game as good as Arcanum, but with a class system which allows you to learn the skills of other classes. As you quoted,

Granted there could have been an additional comma or conjunction in there to make it clearer, but I have enough faith to believe Xan knows perfectly well that Arcanum doesn't have classes.

Personally I don't see the point of classes, and I'm sick of Dungeons & Dragons, but that's neither here nor there. I just hope Troika can do a good enough job with ToEE to overcome the D&D taint.

I have been wanting to get Mech4 Mercnaries but my comp was all screwed up so I didn't. Now I have a comp that will run it. Is it worth buying?

Except that this 'bug' is a game feature that is prominently mentioned in the manual.
