First of all, first post here (or anywhere for that matter!)*Bows*
You all seem like descent enough people,
I was just wondering what games I may have missed out on. Before Arcanum, I never knew this level of quality was available in games. Then I bought the fallouts and beat them too. Any RPGs in particular that you can recomend? Thanks in advance!

Arcanum and the Fallouts are probably the best RPG's out there. If you are in a heathen-like mood, you might try Baldur's Gate. Know that you will incur much wrath if you do though.

Freedom Force is apparently really good.

    Wasteland!
Not that' you'll ever find it, but I'm dissapointed it wasn't mentioned yet, if this was a Fallout forum it'd be first on the list...well, maybe not...but still.

The only RPGs I've ever found that are approaching Arcanum and FO/FO2 aren't really RPGs.
More like interactive movies... if you liked Arcanum and Final Fantasy VII, try "Anachronox". It's got a great layout, gorgeous scenery, a reasonable plot, very odd characters, and it's full of very amusing dialogue.
Down side - full of bugs and the graphics ain't that great for character animations.

I think Fallout was actually based on Wasteland...It was made 10 years before Fallout, by Interplay.

One game that I initially missed out on, but recently got to play is Grim Fandango by LucasArts. Great, great game. One of my all-time favorites.

It's not really an RPG. It's more of an RPG type-thingâ„¢. Actually it's an adventure game somewhat like the Monkey Island series. Lots of humor, great voice acting. Tons of atmosphere. Just another high-quality adventure game from the company that does them the best.

So let's see: Freedom Force, Planescape: Torment, icewind dale, Wasteland, Anachronox, and Grim Fandango...
*Checks wallet and finds 32 cents and a snickersâ„¢ wrapper*
Oh well, i'll just play my Micheal Jackson Moonwalkerâ„¢ Genesis rom. (Too many â„¢s?)

Dunno about the Wasteland...you might also like to try Excelsior. Great puzzles! Pretty hard initially though.

Score! I haven't played wasteland in years...

And Fallout was based on wasteland, the official sequel never came to be, so they made Fallout instead.

Hey no problem  I'd never played wasteland myself until I asked about it over on a Fallout forum. That's the two links I was given, about a year ago now...

    I can't agree more

@Milo: If you like Grim Fandango, and have no problem with the combat system of Baldur's Gate(*), and like super hero theme, then by all means buy Freedom Force. It's already in the stores. I read the review on GameSpot and bought it yesterday. It's very great!

(*) Turn based, but without your actions, turns go on non-stop. You can pause the game anytime to issue/change commands to all your characters, then unpause and they will carry out your orders.
