Tried installing it. When I first open it, it works fine. But after DLing the official patch, UAP091225.exe and Hi Res 1.1a, it crashes almost immediately when I try opening it.

yes, I'm admin and tried running as admin. Did DEP, nothing. Tried setting compatibility to everything. Yes, UAC is disabled.

    Small update:

Btw: when I do UAP, I also do the extra content & town maps.

Now, it seems to work right now without the hi res. So what's going on?

I usually enter width as 1050, and height as 1680.

Sounds like a bug in the high-res patch...

Have you tried a different resolution? You monitor should scale 1440x900 or 1280x800 (both have the same aspect ratio) relatively well for example. Are you applying any of the different fonts? Try doing the opposite either way.

Dunno why, but now it works when I tried 18 font.

Any mod recommendations other than the 3 I installed? :3

Ammo mod work with it? Coz I want to go for a gunslinger

You could try it but I wouldn't get my hopes up. Don't go overwriting any UAP files either, it'll probably break.

The high-quality music/townmaps are others worth looking at and are compatible to the UAP. If you've finished vanilla before, give Rroyo's brilliant Arcanum: WIP a try - it adds a heap of new content and includes a pretty recent UAP as well, you will be needing a fresh install of Arcanum though (with the official patch).

It was probably just a random glitch that never got fixed, as long as it's working now is the main thing

It's working fine now I guess but...

    1. when I bought a pistol, it disappeared after like 2 shots. Didn't appear as equipped or in inventory.

    2. How do you start combat mode at range? Just left alt+click?

    3. I dunno why, but my beauty is now 7? I know some kite cast a spell on me earlier but I dunno.

Your beauty can also go down as a result of criticals (don't remember if it's just misses or if enemy crit hits will cause them as well). Check your log for any scars that may be causing it.

How do I do that? Although that probably is what caused it...is there a way to remove a scar or something?

Either get healed by a doctor, bandage yourself or use the Major Healing spell.

...there a way to rob the bank AND get the quest from Doc Roberts? I robbed the bank, but there's nothing to do.

Nope. But there should be one more interaction with Doc.

He'll meet you at the gate - if Lucan & Co. are gone.

Actually, it is possible, as long as one robs the bank after completing the Doc's quest. The other way around, the Bowen gang won't try to rob the bank knowing it's already empty.

    3. Defend bank

Nope. If you "rat on orc" (by which I'm guessing you meant telling the Doc that Jacob wanted you to rob the bank), you will fail the bank robbery quest. You can still rob it of course, but you won't get the XP for completing the deal with Jacob. So by all means do't tell the Doc that Jacob proposed a bank robbery deal to you. Unless that is the way you want to play it. It's an Role Playing Game after all, do whatever strikes your fancy. But if you want to complete both quest, therefore getting the XP reward for both of them, you can:

    1. Talk to Jacob, accept his quest.
    2. Talk to the Doc, don't tell him about Jacob, ask him for work, accept his quest.
    3. Kill the Bowen Gang, claim your reward from the Doc.
    4. Rob the bank, go to Jacob, fulfill the deal.

You can pickpocket/kill Jacob after fulfilling the deal with him if you want his share. I don't think anyone will mind. You can also make a deal with Jacob after defending the bank (between point 3 and 4) instead of before talking with the Doc. I'm just giving an example of a working order.

kk. I'm lvl 7. Sogg is lvl 2. Should I just go for Jayna or have Sogg? BTW: I'm going for a techie gunslinger.

Or wait until I'm lvl 10 and then get Jayna?

Sogg is a very good non-magic non-tech melee fighter and pack mule. Good for pretty much anyone who needs some additional muscle.

Jayna is a handy walking first aid kit who becomes a decent melee fighter on the higher levels. Useful if you don't want to specialize in healing or herbalism yourself, since a tech character will become immune to Virgil's white necromancy magic pretty quick.
