    Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with how that turned out, because it turned out exactly like I predicted. Utter failure is great when it happens to people you don't care for.

    That's not true! You don't support my mod! Besides, We're expecting to finish it around Chriztmaz of 2004... this is going to be a huge mod, probably overshadowing Arcanum itself.

    Matt's Doomed Mod = 'one or two' people who barely know how to script working part-time, perhaps totalling 8 hours of work per week, takes... You do the math.

    i think matt has forgotten the actual conversation we had, cuse the thing about cristmaz 2004 is if we hold out that long in order to finish it.
    oh, and its xmas 2004 or later.

    the thing about bigger than arcanum, well if it goes as planned it will be, though thats only if it goes as planned..

    With bigger you mean with more quests, locations and all that?

    Ok. I believe you're aiming just a little bit too high here.

    It's not that I don't believe in you guys, but you have to be a tad realistic shall you be able to complete this thing. Simply making all the new areas/npc:s/quests may be a pretty quick process, but along the way, you'll be unawarely spawning a horde of bugs, with broken and unaccessible quests following their wake.

    May I suggest that you make the mod smaller, and put your scope on quality instead of quantity? After all, what's the point making a 50 hour game if nobody will play it for more than 15 minutes anyway? Granted, a well-made but short mod will be better received than a long and tedious one.

    Regardless of what you choose to do, I wish you the best of luck. I would recommend my method though :)

    Silvio, you will fail. I guarantee it. You're biting off far more than you can chew, you haven't really thought about what you're doing, and overall you're pretty fucked. If you worked solid for a week you might have an acceptable design document, but given how much time in the average week you'll devote to this it'll take more like 1-2 months.

    I doubt you'll get past the learning curve of using WorldEd either. Oh, and Arcanum is a dead game - ToEE is out now, and I think very few people would be interested in downloading a long mod made by amateurs.
