I was wondering if someone could be so kind as to tell me where to find the schematic for the pyrotechnic bow and the envenomed bow? Also, if i have these bows, do they use anything other than arrows(fuel/poison)? And for the final question, i was planning on getting smithy and mechanic, would manuals alone be enough to create these bows, i dont want to get the explosives and chemistry tree on this character . I know its a lot, but knowing these things would be much appreciated!
you can get the schematics in the smithy shop most of the time. I wouldn't get smithy/mechanical because magnus takes care of that for you. Jayna takes care of your str/dex potions and herbology. Later on Sebastion has the elec/expl areas, but at level 30 I thinks hes to late in the game. Techys need the charged ring (2 ranks elec) so whats that leave you? i really enjoyed playing a throwing character, never tried the bow but if you read the post about bows power by shadygrove he'll show you how to be master at lvl 10! Remember that picklocks/repair/disarm/firearms points add to your TA like spells do to MA. I think it would be easier to play a 0/0 character with that in mind. 1 cp tech = 1 cp spell. Dexterity is a must but charged rings/spells take care of that for you, but then you need 16 int to maintain 4 spells, then you need 16 CN to take care of the blue stuff your using. As you can see, there are quite a bit of experimenting involved. Just start a character and play around and see if its working out, you'll know by the time your lvl 15. If its not going good, then reload and try something different. I have different characters saved that are lvl 10, just because I think I have that part of the game down and its the same no matter what character your playing. So when I try something I'm always starting at lvl 10. One of the nice things about this game is its experimentability! Parmanian
The pyrotechnic bow schematic can only be found in the Black Mountain Mines (that I know of). Requires: Explosives Technician + Mechanical Assistant + Compound Bow + Fire Obstruction. The envenomed bow schematic can only be bought. Requires: Mechanical Assiatant + Chemistry Professor + Compound Bow + Poison The compound bow schematic can only be bought, though you can buy a compound bow the first day you are in Tarant. Requires: Mechanical Associate + Long Bow (hard to find) + Boat Rigging.
Ahh, thanks, well hopefully i can find another compound or at least a long bow, black mountain mines...hmm, guess i gotta check a bit better. Thanks though, Ill start the techy bow pretty soon here, give it a shot at least, if that doesnt go well i can always go with my pyro axe dwarf tech.
Actually, Smithy/Mechanic is a good way to go. Yes, Magnus can build some of the stuff, but he can't get the really good stuff like the Automaton and such.
The Bow Captian in Dernholm carries the Compound bow. If you play another archer, get to the armorer the first day you are in Tarant. There is a good chance the Compound Bow Schematic will be there your second day. About 1 game in 10 or 15 has it there then. Uh... those are good odds compaired to its usual availability. The closest source of Long Bows is the bow Master quest. After that its bounty hunters or spider hunting on the Isle of Dispair.
True..Ill buy the one compound, use a fate point to fetch the one off of the bow master, i should probably wait until after i do the mastery quest id imagin...and there i have it, pyrotechnic and envenom, as long as i remember where to buy/find the schematics...lol. Thanks again for all the help folks
I have never used bows yet but I always pick up that compound when in tarant..... as a matter of fact, anytime shopping I see something unusual, I pick it up for future use maybe. As for the schematics, I buy em all, never use em but I buy em......hehehehe Parmanian
