In order to fix a security hole, I've upgraded the forums to the latest version of phpBB. As a result, some features will be unavailable until I re-install them (quick reply, possibly the gallery and a few other things). I hope to fix these over the coming week. Please let me know if you encounter any problems.
Quick reply is back in. News posting is now working again. Priority is to get the new code working (and therefore new content happening) before I look at getting rid of the pop-ups (moving to a new server, basically).
Wow, I put that in my sig 5 months ago... and finally an answer .... if you're changing servers anyway, why bothering to upgrade?
Because the site might get hacked in the mean-time and we're not moving for quite a few months yet. If the site did get hacked, it'd mean more work for me but this way, the chances of being hacked via known phpBB exploits is reduced.
The gallery is now working again. I'm pretty sure everything else is now working too. Let me know if anyone encounters any problems.
