Just a suggestion, but get smaller buttons and a small banner for the top of the forum pages, as it is now you are required to scroll down to see the results of any post you do.... Also the large graphic greatly reduce the loading speed of the pages, and if it is slow for me with a cable connection, I cannot even begin to imagine how slow it must be for a 56K connection..
The scrolling issue has been brought up before, but the people who designed this layout (Saint Proverbius and Monkeypunch) are happy with it like this, so we're not changing it. As for the loading time... that is not due to the graphics, that's due to the server being slow. Generating message board posts, index pages, etc from a MySQL database takes some CPU effort. Right now... the server is a bit overloaded because this site is fairly popular and so are a number of other sites running on this server. That is why our hosts will be moving us to another server in the near future.
There is one particular place where your buttons and image sizes cause me a problem. When I do a search, the only part of the form not displayed is the submission button. There is a huge button labelled "Search" displayed, however. I know that I do not submit the form with that button, but something in my head keeps making me press is as soon as I have entered my search criteria. If only the form submission button was in plain sight, my stupid brain would have no excuses.
