As a would-be dwarven scientician, I was curious if anyone could do me the great service of informing me whether it is possible to make either the Healing Jacket, Featherlight Chainmail, or Elite Platemail in the small sizes, or if these are automatically sized to fit humans and their ilk. I was distressed to find that the smith at the Wheel Clan did not actually have Dwarven Platemail sized for dwarves, and I wished to find out if I could use the armor before I invested the knowledge points in learning to make it. My most sincere thanks. -KB
If you use a small sized leather or jacket to make something new out of them, then you end up wiht a small sized armor.
hrm.. Are you certain? I've tried making stuff with small or large leather in my inventory, and was told I didn't have the components (pretty damned sure I had the other piece also). I might try it again, but I remember thinking that it sucked. Not nearly as bad as it sucks that elite platemail sells for less than the leather you make it out of =) -=rev=-
you need feather weight chain mail for the plate witch you have to make yourself you can't buy it. I think it sells for more than 900
aye.. aye, but the featherweight chainmail is made from leather and dwarven steel, or some such combo.. the thing is, I've not been able to make the first piece in that chain of armor which requires leather from a small or large piece.. I don't think... hmm.. maybe i had guard leather... ponder.. i'll try tonight and post.
what you need is a spool of heavy wire combined with your very day leather armor. it takes dwarven steel and the newly forged feather weight to have elite plate, you spend at most a 1000, while collecting leather armor from delochian hand or ther, you can make alot of cash. the same with the goggles than give you +2 perception, you buy pocket wathc parts with glasses and spend st the most 100 you sell for 800 and the junk yards
$$ Oh, that's not my concern, just an observation. I've got over 30,000, and have no use for it. Haven't had a need for my overwhelming hoard of cash for some time now. What concerns me is that I don't think you can do heavy spool + SMALL leather to make small chain, and work your way up with smalls from there. But I'll try and check that out now =)
Well, I dunno about the chain, but I was able t'make a small Healing Jacket, so I should assume armor would work the same way. Thankee agin fer all yer advice. -KB
woop! badass about the small jacket.. and about the ship. i'd start collecting cash again if my game wasn't crashing. careful when you do any hacking =) i'm too lazy to go to my backup game, and i'll probably play the game through now with my pretty little mage instead of finishing off with my gun totin' freak. thats the only problem i have with these types of games.. i get so OCD about beating every damned quest that when i screw something up, I *never* want to do all of those little quests over again..so I just stop playing the game =) Fortunately, arcanum has enough craziness I should remain entertained playing the game through a few times. I like the idea of killing everyone in stillwater to loot their cash. brings a tear to my eye. i think i'll post about that.
