In previous posts going through the pass would net you 3 levels, but that is probably your character fighting. Well in order to get jormand at lvl 19-20 I am travelling to qintarra early. My party is all lvl 16 but I only gained 1 and a half levels through the pass. So I'm gonna do some previous quests and takle the pass at lvl 18. I'm just gonna see how things get screwed up by doing this. There had to be a reason in the programmers mind to have jormand over there a free follower at lvl 20! Parmanian PS I should have said forcing qintarra, you could force the pass anytime!
I got at the pass at level 11 and got through it at level 13 of coarse i had seven followers to help me.
I had an archer who did it at 15? 16?, he got three levels, but archers kind of rule damage wise. The rest of the party gets in only 10 - 15% of the damage done. My pacifist, of course, got no points from the pass.
Well i am pleased i invested points in the Nature college i only used the first three spells in that college to get through the pass. Control Beast - Allowed me to make some of the animals friendly. Entangle - To stop them some of them from patroling so that me and my followers past them could sneak past them without a fight. Control Beast - When there was a bunch of strong animals together i casted it on the strongest one so that they would all attack it instead of them attacking my followers it made it easy to kill them quickly and when the animals were killed i Surrounded the one i casted Control Beast on and killed it. My character was a Archer too
I just went through the pass lvl 19 and came out lvl 19! All the followers did the killing. Forced qintarra and know I know why Myrth will not talk to me when I get to stillwater. As soon as I entered Qintarra, the big gong went off and the quest book gets updated to show you have found qintarra. I got jormand now so the group is 10 and all of us are lvl 20. I'm gonna play through now to get thorvald in the isle and continue the main quest. BUT................. Whats gonna happen at the wheel clan where you get the quest to go to qintarra via stillwater from Longhaire? does this get messed up also? and can you still convince longhaire to be king? Questions....questions.....questions Parmanian would like to know!
It plays out the way it always does. He marks Stillwater & sets Myrth up. Myrth has no reason to talk to you though. Yes you can.
thanks shadygrove I can continue the game! While I was waiting for a reply I started a new game helping out jazzkit. It is a human female mage with elven blood. She was concerned about all the points that go into charisma to get all the followers. Well I set it up that you have to be a techy first to get TA at 11 to get Jayna. a couple of points in lockpicks and a tech skill of any kind gets you to 11 (you have to make up for the +5 MA for elven blood) So now the character is at lvl 10 with 6 followers, TA still at 11 and the two points to spend for being level 10. Now jayna will leave when you start to move to the MA side. Do you know at what point that is? I realize that if your cha is 20 she won't leave but with this build, I believe its full bore spells now. The next follower would be dante and then chukka. If jayna is still around at level 15 I guess you just let her go but i like her for her elixers she makes. what yah think? Parmanian
I like ot, but don't personaly like the Elven Blood background. +5% MA is not that much. I go for backgrounds more complex than that one. Question, why not start with a 1/2 Elf? You start with the same 5% MA & - 1/4 all tech skills, you get 9 DX, then you can apply other backgrounds.
as I said I was just trying to help someone else out in the situation. I usually play half elfs in my games. I just built a half elf character that is lvl 12 with the 7 followers and still have 5 CPs to spend. gonna use as a foundation for future games because I can go either way TA or MA. I think I got the first 12 levels to the point of PERFECTION, hehehehe. Parmanian
I guess what i should have said was for good aligned maximum followers. wether TA or MA based. Parmanian
