Lucky for me I don't smoke and very rarely drink booze. Just the occasional glass of wine (I live in a wine making area).
I drink 2..4 cup of coffee every day. And alcohol (mainly beer), but only at very rare feasts, like Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, ... (I am VERY afraid of cardiovascular diseases )
I don't drink, smoke, masturbate, have a girlfriend, live in anything other than a cardboard box in a small laneway behind a supermarket, nor eat anything other than food I scrounge out of a nearby garbage can. And I'm just fine with that.
New reports like that are always over-emphasized. I would not be surprised if drinking has an effect on cancer rates, but it is not as dangerous as smoking. Smoking cigarettes involves inhaling rat poison and cyanide. I have yet to see a beer that doubles as a pesticide. Alcohol wanders a fine line of healthiness. Reasonable consumption stimulates a great many positive effects in the body, however, and like ever single other thing on this planet, when taken to excess it is undeniably dangerous.
Speaking of inhaling toxic substances, all the old pre-WWII hangars on our airfield are being shut down. . Right now, ours is the only one still being used because they tested the air in all the hangars and found asbestos, so everybody else has been kicked out of their hangars. Ours was the last to get tested, so I figure we'll probably get kicked out today. Of course, our hangar has been condemned for a while now because the foundations have settled and the back wall is about to fall down, but we still work in it. They can't just tear the old hangars down because they are protected by the historical soceity. It's pretty crappy.
heh, they had to tear down a section of housing here because of asbestos, which is all fine and dandy... except the decided to BURN the houses down... i love military intelligence.
What is wrong with burning them, it just means you will get a nice layer of asbestos ash all over the neighbourhood.
