the forum has been really busy lately, which is a good thing.

the not so good thing is the little markers next to the threads with new posts in them disapear if the browser closes. i just opened the site and my browser crashed, but not before i noticed that just about 12 threads had new posts. i managed to figure out which ones (closest to the top etc.) but that was just the general discussion forum. the new ones in the ToEE thread, and vampire thread, and hints and tips ones went away as well, even though i hadnt opened those.

is there a way you could make it so those threads stay marked even if youve opened the web site before?

That's a phpBB problem, not HoL's problem, if you want to get that fixed, bother people at phpBB.com, not here

Actually, a little known already existing feature does just what you want. Go back to the forum index. Up in the top right you have a link that says View posts since last visit.

You'll find that that generally brings up topics that are new since your last visit, even when your browser crashes, or if you've closed off and come back a bit later. May not work all the time (depending on the crash) but I've found it works wonders most of the time.

Failing that, you can do a forum search to bring up all posts that were made within the last day or so, depending on how long you've been away.

When I encounter this sort of problem I dig up my bio and bring up all the posts that I've made. I note the time on the most recent one and then I know which topics to check up on as each one tells of the most recent post.
