    Hey all.

I've got a quick question that may have already been asked and answered, but my connection is slow and I really don't want to wade through 44 pages of topics to try and find it. Am sure you all understand. So sorry if this is a repetitive question.

Why do my followers stop liking me as time goes on? I have Virgil, Magnus, and Dog and it seems like every time I turn around, their opinion of me is decreased. I'm playing a good character - haven't hacked up anyone to decrease my alignment or anything. Are they affected by me carrying or using certain items or what? Am very very confused. And how do I improve it? I know that I can give Magnus some snuff once he starts to hate me, but what about Dog and Virgil? Help please!!

    Thanks!

    Welcome Spaztek! :wavey:

Some followers don't like it when you use certain skills. I've never had a problem myself, but some people find that Virgil doesn't like the use of Dark Necro magick. Apart from this. I'm afraid I can't really help.

As for the items needed to bribe your followers, you should be able to persuade them to tell you when their reaction gets low enough.

The bribes that I know of...

    Virgil: Just talk to him.
Mug Dog (Sogg Mead Mug): Wine.
    Magnus: Dwarven Snuff.
    Raven: Elven Spring Water.
    Gar: Earl Grey Tea.

I guess Loghaire would like snuff too, but I don't know.

Hope it helps, and welcome to the forums!

    More bribes!

Here's some more, off the official Prima guide:

Chukka - Inclined towards good. Accepts no bribes. Once you piss him off, ain't nothin' you can do to make it right.

Dante - Neutral. No bribes. Quest guy.

Dog - Neutral. no bribes. Shouldn't care whether you're good/bad, so I don't understand why Dog is starting to dislike you!

Franklin Payne - Bribe: Earl Grey Tea.

Gar - Inclined towards good. Bribe: Earl Grey Tea.

Geoffrey Tarrelond-Ashe- Inclined towards evil. Bribe: Chateau de Be'ron Brandy

Jayna Stiles - Technology inclined. Leaves at Tarant. Bribe: Sweet cakes.

Jormund - Neutral. Doesnt' care about good/evil, so doesn't need any bribes.

Loghaire Thunderstone - inclined to good. Bribe: Dwarven snuff.

Magnus Shale Fist - Inclined to good. Bribe: Dwarven snuff.

Perriman Smythe - Inclined to good. Bribe: Earl Grey Tea.

Raven - Inclined to good. She also doesn't like Z'an Al'urin in your party. Bribe: Elven Spring Water.

Sebastian - Inclined to evil. Bribe: Wine.

Sogg Mead Mugg - Neutral. Bribe: Wine. :booze:

Tollo Underhill - Inclined to evil. Bribe: absinthe.

Torian Kel - Inclined to evil. Bribe: None. "there's nothing you can do to change his mind but change your ways" [back to more evil]

Virgil - Usually good, but can be persuaded to evil. Bribe: talk to him.

Vollinger - Inclined to evil. Bribe: absinthe

    Waromon - Neutral. Bribe: none.

Z'an Al'urin - Sort of evil but somewhat neutral. Doesn't like Raven in your party. Bribe: Elven Spring Water.

I think that pretty much covers all the followers. :twoheaded:

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks!!

    Excellent.

I don't know why Dog started to not like me either, especially if he's neutral! Weird.

Thanks everyone for all your help and the warm welcomes.

I'm sure I'll be back with more questions as the game progresses.

I may have an answer to that problem: Once, I went into the Black Mountain Mines, and, when I fought the Brute Fangs, Worthless Mutt turned on me. Have you been chopping up a bunch of Brute Fangs, Shiverbits, etc.? If so, this bug may be your problem.

I'm trying to remember where I was. (Have started a new game since then.) I think it was in mines... or maybe the ancient temple... Anyway, it wasn't just Dog who started to hate me - it was him, Virgil and Magnus with no warning from any of them. I didn't get Magnus's "hey there, I don't understand/won't stand for this much longer" speech at any point. <<shrug>> I'm keeping a closer eye on all my followers this time around to see what affects them.

Thank you Friend, this is most embarrassing

Ahh, how could I forget! Of course, Frankie Payne, Adventurer Extrodinaire, He is a Lean, mean, bogey-man fighting old man, and if you order now, He comes with a free Elephant gun!

Well, sometimes when you do a surprise attack on an enemy and kill them while they are still neutral (before they begin to hate and attack you, that is), they will think you are hurting somone who is decent. Maybe Worthless Mutt growled when they all got mad. you wouldnt hear it and probably wouldnt notice it. It is his way to complain about what you are doing.

Giving Magnus a dose Fortifier cause him to attack me when it runs out.

I am lvl 25, good and in Tyrant where I can repeat this bug. It also happened with Sogg Mead Mug (lvl 7) and me lvl 26, in Ashbury.

Don't attack stuff randomly. Especially the little Kite warriors. If anything, wait for the enemy to strike first (you can usually tell in Turn Based Combat mode) or for your followers to fight first.

Dog can usually revert back to neutral with Charm Beast. Funny that.

For every few 'good' creature you strike first (for good-aligned players) your reaction will drop a point.
