Hi! I just got Arcanum, and I'm loving it so far..I just have one question for now. I heard there was going to be fog of war implemented in the game..but so far I haven't seen any, everything is revealed the moment I enter an area. Is this how it should be? Or is my PC somehow responsible? (I must be one of the only people who actually likes fog of war, that's why I'm asking.) Thanks in advance for anyone who might be able to help.
no tactical fog of war is implemented in the final version. it has something to do with city pathing. strategically, you won't know where anything on the world map is until you stumble across it or have someone mark it on your map. ~Aldin
There is fog on your map for some areas like the bedokan village or the crash site. This is only cleared from your map by walking over it. But you can move your screen a certain distance fro your avatar depending on your perception.
All the dungeons in the game have fog of war. Basically, as a rule of thumb, major towns don't have this, but other locations will.
I found that an area generally considered dangerous or hostile (caves, dark elf city etc.) has fog of war. A town or city doesn't, but you still have to find the locations of shops etc.
