*snorts again at Flink* DU, your post counter for the number of hits on the site appears to be down.

If he was really keeping a watch on us, what could he do afterwards? Arrest people for saying un-American things? There are a lot of non-Americans here anyway.

I think George Bush sucks Michael Jacksons plastic polka dotted penis in his spare time. I dont have anything against America apart from it being the outlet of satan and most of the presidents being freemasons and so are all of the ppl from N.A.S.A (they plan to blow up god no shit!). but the point I'm eventually getting around to is that george bush is a dopey hobo with a composite of Herbert Hoover's economic sense, Richard Nixon's credibility and like Gerald Ford became president without winning an election. George Bush you are a fucking moron... thank you... thank you all... (cringing in anticipation for flaming)

Alright, another crazy conspiracy theorist! Also, I don't think people are going to flame you for criticising Bush. There aren't a lot of ultra-patriotic Americans hanging out here.

Actually, he can't do shit, because there is a right to free speech, so we can say whatever the hell we want.

Is that like the Sister Act 1 and 2? Cause those bills did pretty well in the box office, but then again, they really took their toll on television and my personal airline experiences. I'm never paying 4 dollars for those headphones again.

If you an American, it is imperative to read them. If not, I don't suppose it matters except to understand stuff.

They are laws pushed through the Congress over the past couple years. Ashcroft penned them. and the White House pressured congress to pass them. They curtail just about every civil liberty you thought you had. Habeas Corpus: fuct. Freedom of information: fuct. Privacy: fuct. Just thinking about them makes me feel icky. They'll probably be declared unconstitutional at some point soon. There are already several suits pending. But if Bush is able to fill any more court seats by executive order, like he just did, it's doubtful. However, many conservatives are also up in arms about it. Libertarian republicans, who are by and large rather well-informed, have started putting out anti-Bush papers. May we live in less interesting times.

While this is an old post, I must interject: how could you have left me out of the list of patriotic Americans? While I don't like everything our country has done, or is doing, or the way it is run, I still have a fierce and enduring love of country, and would certainly die in the service of the United States. If you think that's stupid, suck it.

There was a masonic lodge in California I terrorized for about a week.

Basically all I did was walk up to the lobby desk wearing nothing but bike shorts and asked for an application for membership...

    But yeah... Good times.

    <edit>

In regards to the patriot acts...

It should be self explanatory that anything involving both the words "George Bush Jr." and "Patriot/Patriotism" is either a horrible exageration, a gross understatement, or a violent crime.

If any of you get HBO then may be you watch "Real Time with Bill Mahr."
Every week he has do's and don'ts in relation to politics, and popular media culture. One of them this week was "Don't Compare George W. Bush to Hitler" 'Before being elected, Hitler was a veteran of a war and answered his country's call in a time of need, and during that election Hitler got more votes than his opponent. Both of these statements are false in relation to our President.'

I know the whole more/less votes thing might be a little tired, but how can you prove its false? Anyway, this was very funny to me.

i'm patriotic myself, but i still think the president is an ass. i voted for the other guy. not that Gore would have made a better president, really, but at least he could read the damn cue cards!!! i just hate having to defend my views on politics to other conservatives--despite being a Christian with old-fashioned morals and convictions, since i don't believe in Bush, the death-penalty, or the "war" in Iraq, i'm apparantly un-American. never mind that i like guns, beer, and cow-tipping :p retard's not the only red-neck here, you know... i just come from a different kind of south...

The Freemasons aren't the bane of existence, I hope you know that. They are a fraternal organization. If all the former presidents were phi beta capas, would you piss and moan about that too?

    To all you Bush supporters:

This was in the news a while ago. As soon as Dubya got elected he was already making plans to invade Iraq. He also had plans for the oil, how it would be divided etc.
