Alright, so I admit that this thread has been done before, but I'd rather make my own then dig up an old one. After hearing all the discussion about Arcanum, I decided that I would re-install it (btw: it runs fine on Vista) and play it some more. I'm currently doing a female human technologist, with the intent to dump lots of points into beauty/cha/persuasion, and keep the gun as a 'back-up' method. Normally, the two previous times I've played, I've done male technologists, and gone for the most warlike path I can. I'm thinking next I'll go for a dwarf, but I'mn't entirely sure. Anyone got odd build recommendations, or ones they really like and think're worth trying?
Half-Orc debutanté with 20's for Beauty and Charisma. Just give her some magick to aid her followers.
Huh... I may try that next. Maybe I'll give her a set of 'power gauntlets' or some such and have just punch holes in everything. ^__^ I just wish I could play a female gnome or dwarf... I think the only thing more feasibly annoying than a male gnome would be a female one.
Only female wasps sting, only female mosquitos bite, that ant biting and pissing on your toe is a woman... figures.
lol. I'm currently playing a Half-Ogre with no tech/magic what so ever. Well, I may use a magic weapon later, but he'sn't going to be spell-inclined or tech inclined. That way I can keep Virgil around as a healer, without him passing out everytime my health gets low. XD Also, I used The Arcanum Character Editor to make Virgil useful: I took his ranks in melee and put them into bow. Gave him a bow. I don't care if he hits anything, it just keeps him outta the way. Also the following is a conversation between Thaddeus Maynor and my character: I'm going to love working the Thieves Underground with a retard.
yeah, i love the dumb dialog - that's why I've put a lot of it in my mod. The only downside is that you miss out on a few quests, but that's not too bad for the experienced player. Try a very unlikable character. There are 2 ways to play it out: an unlikable player with charisma (usually 10 Ch is required to convince people you aren't a bad sort) or an unlikable, uncharismatic character where everyone hates you and constantly insults you. Actually, the second sounds like a lot more fun...
I'm currently playing a thief that I'm tipping towards the evil end of the spectrum. I'm also stockpiling magical items. Not because I need/want them, but because it's fun to clear out an entire shop. p.s: I've already slaughtered most of Shrouded Hills... damn Doc Roberts.
