I saw this file at the dlg section of the uncompressed data of Arcanum. It reads:

And there are more but this are the only people I know from this and other message boards.

So what does it mean?

I don't see this upon gameplay. Maybe some extras Troika put in? Who wrote the file?

 

maybe it's the passcode you need to type in to get the sword from the ancient maze!

their is a secret graveyard that they put in with the last patch.. don't know the loc offhand... but in the graveyard... they put gravestones for all the frequent posters/fans/people who helped w/ beta testing etc from their official site. its a little tribute.

Yeah, it was posted a while ago on the Arcanum Inn forum (Vault Network). One of our staff members, Ratster, made a rare appearance there to post the list, and someone else posted the location later. I didn't think enough people here would care, though, so I didn't post it. (it only is really interesting for us fanboys who made it in... heh.)

Hey, how come, Ratster, CodeGuy, Heroman, Eiloch, Calis, Milady, and Stravaig are inside a special temple at the graveyard?

 

Because we all did something cool in the arcanum community, I'd imagine. (though the exact selection criteria are beyond me)
Ratster, for instance, wrote several nifty programs before the game was out (such as his character planner) and was extremely active on the Arcanum Inn forum (this forum didn't exist yet back then).
Codeguy compiled the immense UberFAQ (Ratster later took over from him).
Eiloch made up a large share of the tombstone inscriptions, together with Sawtooth, and has generally been a PoetryPerson on the Arcanum Inn.
Milady has acted as a "mom" for the community in the #arcanum irc channel (by the way... for those of you who don't already... why don't you drop by in #arcanum some time?)
Stravaig is married to Milady and visited the Troika offices a few times.
And I think my being in there has something to do with this site.
