Please please don't hurt me... I've never heard of fallout before coming to this forum. Actually, never heard of Arcanum until it was shoved into my face.

What is fallout like? If I like Arcanum will I like it? Should I go get it now before bad things happen to me?

    Thanks!

    Wangus

Fallout spoiled me for most every other CRPG. I still enjoy dungeon crawlers for what they are, but Fallout and Arcanum are really what I think CRPGs should be like.

You can buy Fallout and Fallout 2 in a jewel case bundle for like $10. However, I'd recommend finding a boxed version of both. The boxed versions are $20, but it's worth the extra $10 for the spiral bound manuals.

There are no excuses. I will give you a small amount of time to atone by getting Fallout, playing it and raving about how much you like it (becuase that's the only possible reaction).

At that point, we'll discuss your Fallout 2 defficiencies.

I never thought that someone would confess in public that he never heard of Fallout.
Atleast not when not under murderthreat or something...

So, say you were kidding or let us know if you got a knife pressed against your neck.

Otherwise you should be ashamed of yourself.
Not really, but close enough =/

Reko Kid is right to make fun of you for not knowing about Fallout. In my opinion, it's the best CRPG ever made.

    *phew*

That´s why I added that little almost thing... I was afraid that some mod would tell me to nock it off.

But I agree, Fallout rocks, and if they make a #3... well, they´ll have to come and get me if they need me somewhere else than in front of my computer =o)

Wangus: One week. That's all the time you're getting from me before I flame you incessantly for refusing to get one of the greatest games ever made - the game that has been widely credited with reviving the modern CRPG genre on it's own.

Both Fallout 1 & 2 are tattooed on my hard drive. I love them both to the point that I'm going to keep a semi old computer in the closet to play them, just in case technology gets so advanced that we won't be able to play "those old-ass Windows games" anymore on our shiny new DNA/Fiber Optic computers.

I also agree with Saint_P on the manuals. They're a real treat. If at all possible, get the full retail boxes. You'll be glad you did. For what it's worth, they're selling Fallout 2 in the box over at ebworld.com. Fallout 1 (also in box) is thrown in for free. Last I checked, it was ~$10 USD. That's a great price considering the jewelcase version is the same price. It's been backordered for what seems like forever, though.

If you can only find the jewelcase versions, it's not that big of a deal. It includes PDFs of both the manuals with all the neat little drawings and the humor intact.

Yeah! Someone else who hasn't played fallout.

Now, I have some sad news, yesterday, someone vandalized my house and printed the words fallout across it. WHICH ONE OF YOU DID THAT!?

The kind of person who would do such a thing must be a real idiot, easy to please with even the most mindless of distractions.

He didn't happen to scrawl "Tactics" on the end, by any chance?
