I guess somewhat, I'm not really into making judgements on this subject, but it looks like it's almost a copy of Wasteland, sometimes.

And Mad Max...(at least the one I seen) didn't impress me at all.

Fallout concepts aren't Mad Max based. There are Mad Max references throughout all of the fallout games, but it is based on a 1950's vision of what a post apocalyptic future would be like. Hence the retro cheesiness, that somehow isn't cheesy.

No, no - you're all wrong.

Plot of Fallout: guy comes out of bomb shelter in a strange and scary world ...

It's obviously that lame Brendan Fraser movie, "Blast from the Past"

Wasteland was a great game...aahhh the good old days...the only think that bites about that game is that you need the manuel fir the paragraphs, but other than that it was a great game.

Hm, on closer inspection the style seemed familiar.
Didn't Queth mention somewhere he had two accounts ? He's turning out to be a real prankster under the acidic tutelage of Ioo.

Naw, if that was truly Queth, the post would have read:

"*** On contrary, belive me, we know what we're doing....

    ....Ioo's mom."

Fallout isn't Mad Max at all. Here's why:

    1.) Inspiration

Fallout is inspired by the 1950s nuclear craze.

Mad Max is inspired by the 1970s oil shortage.

    2.) Technology

Mad Max doesn't have any. They have muscle cars, but that's about it.

Fallout has gobs of tech stuff, but it's all based on vacuum tubes and fusion power.

    3.) Vehicles

Mad Max had several vehicles, all of which were from the 1970s style of design.

Fallout had one working vehicle, the Highwayman. The design is from the 1950s.

    4.) Projectile Weapons

Mad Max had crossbows and standard slug guns.

Fallout has no crossbows, but had numerous weapons including energy weapons.

    Now, similarities..

    1.) Sequels

    Mad Max had Beyond Thunderdrome.

    Fallout had Fallout Tactics.
