I'm having a problem with Fallout...
Every few seconds to every few minutes, the screen blacks out everyhwere there isn't a cursor or movement. It's very inconvenient, and very annoying.
Running my cursor over the blackened areas will reveal a portion of the screen, but it gets terribly repetetive after a while and makes me not want to play. Is there anything I can do about that?

No it won't. My Fallout "discs" happen to be one Fallout DVD that I ordered from Amazon, and I don't need it in the drive to play any of my Fallout games. So I'd need to uninstall it and be completely without the game.

Mail him the disc and your harddrive.

EDIT: Oh, and offer a blood sacrifice. Preferably the person you love the most.

Glitches like that are usually indicative of driver problems with your graphics card.

I don't have a solution for you though. Loser!

Did you try all the patches? Right now my Fallout 2 is running on a primitive patch that works much better than the latest one.

I think I used to have that too. If you don't want to clean the screen with the mouse, you could just open and close the inventory and it'll be clean (if it's the same problem I had) I don't know how to get rid of it however. Sorry.

Yeah, I've been to No Mutants Allowed before. They have a lot of very useful game tips for playing, but from what I could gather I can't actually fix the blackout bug. The graphics card that shipped with my computer is an nVidia GeForce 6150 LE, so the best I can do is force Fallout to run in 640 by 480 in 16 bit mode with 256 colors, as well as disabling visual themes. This actually lessens the frequency of the blackouts, but they're still there. The inventory suggestion you had given works pretty well. Also, if I use the arrow keys to move the field of view, the active portion of the screen is revealed.
I'm not having the same trouble with Fallout Tactics, though. Just Fallout 1&2.
