That's absolutly true. I have seen him in several movies (Cronus, Hell Boy, Sin City, etc.) and he always plays a role, that plays well in the atmosphere of the movie.

Have you seen Mutant Chronicles? It's a retarded as fuck movie (although the steampunk airships were kinda awesome), but Ron Perlman as a badass priest is cool.

And ohgod how great was he as the hammer-weilding barbarian badass in Outlander? *joy* Anyone who clobbers an alien dragon with a stone hammer is a-fucking-okay in my book!
