You know the girl you're supposed to rescue for the squatters? Chrissy, I think her name is. Her two guards (1 guy, 1 lady) are tough talkers, but not tough fighters. He really only uses his knife, and although she has a sniper rifle, you can waste him in the first turn and ambush her in the second.

Besides, the San Fran dealers would definitely have a sniper rifle. Vic does surprisingly well with one. Whatever you do, don't get in Sulik's way if you give him one of those fancy H&K submachine guns...forget the name, it's like the G-40 or G-40E (two variants, one with night vision or something). Anyway, he kicks ass with it, just don't let anyway apart from the bad dudes (or good dudes if you're bad) in his way :).

Isn't it easier to plant explosives on them? You would need high steal and perhaps sneak skill but it would be interesting. And I for one don't recall being attacked by the whole town after killing a kid or a jet junkie.

As for drugs it's true that the only necessary ones are RadX and Rad Away however since you can get addicted to one of those if you take it too much too often chem resistant is a good trait. Besides I didn't find anything else that would be worthwile except for gifted. Regarding other drugs I never needed mentats as I always played intelligent characters. Buffout was useful in Vault City if you wanted to pry open some doors and lacked the strength. In Fallout 1 Psycho was useful for weaker character while fighting Decker or those guys in Hub holding a BoS member captive.

Well you do not get those stupid bounty hunters after you and it is practical if you do not have a high stealing skill.

I don't think it is easier to plant ticking explosives on them without them going hostile on you. I could be wrong - it's been a long time since I last played the game - but I remember that planting stuff was a lot easier in the first Fallout than the second. Even using the "let them steal the ticking explosives" isn't surefire, if I'm remembering correctly. I think I tried this once and after the bomb went off, people still went hostile on me. It could have been because the blast hit other NPCs, too. I'm not sure.

If you really have your heart set on killing a kid in The Den, one thing you could try is to constantly pickpocket them and fail. Sooner or later, they'll attack you (I think). Then, rather than fighting back, let Sulik or Vic take them out. What's the use, though, really? Once you kill Flick, they stop stealing anyway. They still do the pickpocketing animation, but they never actually take anything once Flick is dead.

I never used RadX or RadAway. For some reason, my radiation level not got bad enough that I had to use it immediately. I always used doctors or the healing tank thing in San Francisco to get rid of radiation levels and never noticed myself getting sick.

One thing I liked to do with the drugs was to get my spouse hooked on them. Since they weighed almost nothing, I'd use Miria as a mule and load her up with everything. Alcohol, Psycho, Mentats, Jet. All that. Then I'd constantly have her shooting up everything until she must have been addicted to everything in the game. Then I'd hand her a submachine gun, some ammo and we'd take on some random encounters where I would run off into a corner and she, sadly, would get slaughtered. Ah luv you, hunny bunny.

As for traits, I really liked Gifted and either Skilled or Small Frame (?). Or whatever that one that gives you agility at the expense of carry weight was called.

Small Frame is the one you're thinking of. Also, Milo, in my experience the kids DID still steal from you after Flick was dead. I've lost the Klamath car part, desert eagles and SMG's to those little bastards. The explosives planting trick is ironic, as one of them has a hand grenade...

Speaking of marriage, if I wanted to get married (I usually skipped Modoc entirely, as it wasn't on any caravan route I took) I'd have to take some mentats, as I usually sacrificed my charisma big time...I almost always had 4 LK/CH, 10 AG, 8 IN and then differing values of ST, EN and PE. Hey, I had to have at least 15 skill points and 10 AP's...

Anyway, I wanted to get a lesbian marriage happening once, but of course, there's a little bug that pops up 100% of the time that stops a female char from marrying Miria. Not sure if guys can marry Dave...

Speaking of drugs, the Vault City guards only search your inventory, not Vic's or Sulik's.

And only if your not a citizen. When your a citizen just talk to one of the gaurds and they open to gate for you... which is quite conveniant :)

O yes, this seems like a really dumbass question, but how the hell do attack the dynamite to the metal pole?

[edit] Godamnit, theres more: I went through the quest to kill the head of the Hubologists, and right after I find out I have to fix the tanker. Well I have the navcomp, and power armour, but when now when I try to upgrade it he wont let me, he just asks me not to kill him. Any other way to get the fuel, upgraded power armour, or to get him to listen to me? Or do I have to start over? (stupid of me to have just walked away from the problem, done other things, and overwritten all of my saves until about 5 levels ago  )

Click on the pole, select the hand icon, click the dynamite.

You can get the fuel by a couple of other means. One way lies with the Vagrants and the other with the... Blue Chinese Guys. Forgot their name. I could spoil it for you, but it's better this way.

As for that dork ass scientist with the Hubologist, try waiting for a couple of days. Leave the area, wait, come back. If that doesn't work then you may be stuck without hardened power armor. You won't really need it anyway. The Power Armor Mk II is better and by the time you reach this point in the game, your followers having one more AC point than usual isn't going to make a huge difference.

No. You put the pole on the cart. Then you put the dynamite on the pole.

No offence, but that whole dyanmite, cart, pole thing was not only incredibly easy, but also a really lame part of the game. Why not just put the dynamite at the base of the rocks? Why do they need to be in a cart? WHY DAMMIT! WHY? WHY? WHY!!?

Just was DU...I suppose the argument against planting it yourself was the need to actually clear the rubble...it COULD be that planting it at the base would just blow it inwards or something...maybe just up and then back down. Who knows?

Besides, those sort of puzzles are only hard for those of lesser intelligence :) - the game tells you how to solve the puzzle!

The most difficult thing is to find a pole - and it's still awfully easy.

I'm halfway through the game now! Can I pretend to be a |33t Fallout guy too?

I slaughter every caravan troupe I come across.

And man, I hate the drugs. Not only did I get addicted to a lot of them, but now I'm even addicted to Radaway! That sucks.

I did the same thing, I never felt the need to kill someone for cash since it was fairly plentiful throughout the game.

Than a paper and pencil roleplaying called Aftermath set in a Post=Holocaust
worlds many of the player character the other player didnot kill other intelligence being or human unless really need. One the population is very low twenry or thirdly year after what set off the holocaust. The only human that where fair game where cannibal human or group of human that ate other
    people alive or dead bodies.
There is no national or state government or international bodies around anymore excety for small local groups or small village, town or ruin city that make their own local law. Everyone know how to use at least two or three weapon well.

I never usually killed anybody unless I had to. Which was when they were evil and attacked me first or 1 or 2 occasions when I they just had to die.

However, now I'm playing my evil melee character, and I'll kill anybody I damn well please if they are just too good. Charavans, merchants, gun dealers, anything I really need. And no, its not for money. My guy is also a very good gambler (gambling is around 135%-150% [tagged] and I have the gambler perk), so If he's low on money he just needs to goto a roulette wheel, and bet 100 bucks about 50 times and hes all set :D

I only wish I could join the enclave, and have fun torturing my village for sending me out for a nearly impossible task that would have probably gotten me killed. Haha!
