Anyone ever played the gamebook series Fabled Lands? I just thought this would be something that would be right up most peoples' street here, the settings in each book are pretty immersive and interesting like Arcanum. I can remember playing them 7 or so years ago and thoroughly enjoying them, though to be honest they are the only gamebooks I've ever played. Most of the series (only 6 were ever published anyway out of a planned 12) are now back in print as of December last year, and apparently iPhone apps are being relased for the series too - though not having an iAnything I can't really comment on that. Anyone else played any similar fun game books? Anyone not know what a gamebook is? If not shame on you!
Well it's not as gimpy as it sounds - honest! It's just like any regular sort of classic CRPG, minus the C - and though the setting isn't steampunk high fantasy is always good for a lark.
What does the 'C' stand for? When I type CRPG into google, I just get 'Canadian Rangers Patrol Group'.
Funnily enough, the Wikipedia article for Role-playing video game is my first hit when I Google it. They really do personalise their search engine, don't they?
