    At least initially, my guess is that crop production gets more important as your population seriously begins to grow and you have armies to maintain.

    So far, stone and lumber have been my number one concern. Can't get enough of them.

    But Crops and Iron will probably get more important later on, and you still need a little for the most, so don't forget about them.

    Everyone wants resources, but my advice is that you keep them to yourself and invest them in mines and quarries, prices rise dramatically once you've done a few upgrades.

    Resources and resources. They are the key. As long as you sepnd all your resources in getting more resources, you should be fine.

    That's Travian for you. This game has a little bit more going for it as there are quests and stuff, but essentially it's the same game, with the same glaring flaws.
