    Tell me this isn't awesome/hilarious/sad.

I loved this cartoon back in the 4th grade... <sigh>.

Too bad they dont make shows like this anymore, the one bad thing about the current popularity of anime is the parallel popularity of japanese children's cartoons... fuck you pikachu, fuck you.

Haha, I actually remember watching that show. Well, actually, I don't remember anything more than the fact that I saw it, so I can't really say if I thought it was good or bad, but what the fuck...

You're right on one point though. What they show kids these days... it's horrible. What they showed back then had quality damn it!

Yeah, I remember having a sort of distant respect for the show, though I couldn't be bothered to follow the soap operaish plot. Too much for me. It looked cool though, and it was obviously very inventive. Also, it was on when I was in high school/college, so my only religious cartoon watching at the time was batman.

Worst cartoon experience ever: seeing the new transformers cartoon a few years ago. When I was a kid, it was my favorite. All they did to make this one new was to show the old ones over again, but add a computer animation weird cube thingy every few seconds to compensate for/assure further shortening attention spans. Ech.

Best cartoon experience: Thundercats being brought to Cartoon Network a few years ago. I used to turn it on at the bar where I tended and make everyone toast Mum-ra, the Ever, LIVING! It was in Cambridge, MA, so, uh, they didn't kick my ass.

hell yeah! that site kicks some ass. I loved The Pirates of Darkwater, as much as I did Thundercats and Transformers. I can actually recall quite a bit about it.

Thundercats on CartoonNetwork: MMMMMMMMMMMMMM. It used to shown during Toonami, but some friggin SD Gundam show replaced it. It also used to have a late night spot, but not anymore(damn adult swim).

And Transformers!!!!! I owned some. Hell, I still have them(they are in a box in my kids' closet). Actually a few of the new shows aren't all that bad, what with the computer animation and stuff.

    And speaking of
how about G.I.Joe, He-Man and the masters of the universe, even Rainbow Bright or Strawberry Shortcake and friends(tehehe), and a host of other forgotten wholesome, quality, parent okayed catoons/toys?

    [EDIT] here ya go : http://thundercats.vpga.com/cartoon.htm , http://www.thetransformers.net/ , http://www.joeheadquarters.com/

Oh - Thundercats, Rane remembers thee well :)

The new cartoon which seems to be taking the scene by storm, is BeyBlade & Dragonball Z (two extremely pointless cartoons) ...

Anyone remember when the very first series of GundamWing come out ? Now that is a class cartoon :) Also, what about the new and improved series of He-Man & The Masters Of The Universe ? I think its been done pretty well ...

    Fuck you pikachu ... :akimbo:

Children's television sucks, and did suck. Despite any claims you make to the contrary, Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are really no better than Yu-Gi-Oh, and all that kids anime-crap.

The best thing to come out of children's entertainment is Spongebob Squarepants, at least that is somewhat funny.

Now, I'm fixing to go old, real old school on you guys. This cartoon I grew up with, and I came across it on the web the other day, but I'll be damned if I can find it again.

Now, for the cartoon the Ownz, Rulez, and so on and so forth.

    David the Gnome.

If I could just download the song to hear it one more time. It's there, floating somewhere in the dark recesses of my mind, flitting between the cobwebs, and the files of the forgotten, and I can't quite trap it. If I could hear it one more time, I think that I might actually tear up.

Anyway, sorry to take your topic, well, off-topic, sleek. I watched Pirates of Dark Water, but I didn't actually see them until a couple years ago. I watched maybe half the episodes, but I didn't lose interest. Just kinda lost track of them. Awesome toon.

    Pirates of Dark water>Ninja Turtles...

Dungeons and Dragons was a pretty decent cartoon as well, of course everyone remembers Transformers and ninja Turtles, and the Thundercats. You can't walk into a hot topic without seeing at least 1 old skool cartoon related t-shirt. I've got a black t-shirt with a fuzzy red thundercats logo on it i got at one of those. I doesnt seem quite as cool now that everyone has'em though. Now if i could find a t-shirt with all those kids from dungeons and dragons i'd be good to go.

Since i mentioned hot topic... I was christmas shopping today and I went into the one at the mall near my house and they had pac-man floor mats (as in, floor mats for the front seats of your car). They were basically these big black rubber mats ith a screen shotof the game making up the rubber surface. They were awesome, but stupid. They wouldnt match the interior of my car at all.

Hey, that song along with the name brought back forgotten memories. I used to love watching that show! He had a gnome wife, two pet mice)if memory isn't Swiss cheesed), and a fox that he would ride too.

All this nostalgia has made me cry for my lost childhood, but thank God for the inner child that I still have (alright, alright! I'm just a big kid, with a growed up life :/ ) Lets bring up more nostalgic pieces and see where this goes.........

Of course I do! Damn, that show was great indeed.

Oh, and Sleek, all anime meant for kids ain't crap (in fact, I wouldn't even deign to call Pokemon anime, but that's just me). Silver Fang! Robotech! Starzinger! A whole lot more I can't remember the name of right now! Weren't these great?

As for none anime*... Care Bears, Duck Tales and Winnie the Pooh were all my heroes.

Damn you Sleek! You forced me to become nostalgical! I hate you! :p

*Before anyone says anything, I know that anime simply means cartoons in japanese and that Care Bears and the others technically would qualify as anime as well - but you bloody well know that I mean japanese cartoons with anime, right?

Ok, let me clarify my stance on children's anime. Anime programing intended for children that has been produced after 1993 is shit.
