Escape from the void?

This morning I saw a name I recognised in the users online bit.
Snobothehobo.
I thought he was banned ages ago.
I double checked his profile and sure enough "Banished to the Void". Last post was in 2002.

So my question is: What? Or perhaps: Why? Also: How?

But don't you think it's a bit odd that someone who hasn't posted for 4 years tries to login even though he was banned?

On the topic of banning: Do you just ban the name or the IP?

Come on Mathboy, give him another chance... the kid's absolutely awesome to flame, because he can't come up with decent come backs, so after a couple threads he just gets angry and leaves. ^_^

That was years ago so maybe he's matured a bit. 4 years makes a big difference when you are 12. Well, a big difference for most people. There are a frightening number of 12 year old 50 year olds out there and they all seem to live in my part of the internet.
