uhhhh, i need some help with a couple of things... i would like to figure out how to use mame or kbmame (both stand for multiple arcade machine emulation) but i need to sun a command prompt of some kind, (whatever that means) and i need to know where i can get working roms... links to helpful sights would be appreciated... also i could avoid all these issues with mame if i could find a decent neo geo emulator, or something that runs samurai show down 1,2,3,4 and king of fighters 96,97, & 98... i tried to find a neo geo emulator and even though i've found plenty of neo geo roms, i think most are meant to be run in a compatible version of mame... if only it were as simple as snes emulation... (download zsnes and download some roms and open up the files!) but alas, its a pain, in the ass
I know it's new compared to all of those gaems, but Dead or Alive two is one of my favorite games of all tyme... it's a very fun games... why? because whats funner than watching (and more fun: making) two asian chicks beat each other up? well, I can think of something... but it's not board appropriate, given all you youngsters...   And I love the Mortal Kombat series... the movies were good too.... the games rock though...
HOLY CHRIST! matt you get the fighting game n0b of the month award, AND the worst taste in movies award of the milleniu. first of all dead or alive? ooooooooooooh, BREAST physics are cutting edge technology now eh? come on, its a button mashing nightmare. push this button to do a counter? what the fuck is that? it takes no skill, i beat the game in like ten minutes, and the boss in the original looks too much like akuma from the street fighter alphas. its just annoying, the only good feature was the lack of ring outs, and the exploding ground. this would have been extra good had battles lasted longer than 10-10.2 seconds, because you never really leave the ring anyway, so whats the point? mortal kombat was a good game though, but the movies? THE MOVIES? come ON! ok fine you dont get bad movie taste of the millenium, you get the ad movie taste of the hour award, but seriously, the only ood part of those movies was the begining of the second one where the main character from the first movie dies in the first two seconds, which are also two seconds after the conclusion of the first. (basically the first movie ends where the second begins, and almost instantly kills the main character). WHICH IS HILARIOUS, but stupid. the absolute worst video game movies imo however are "street fighter" with jean claude van damm, and the "tekken" anime. i cried when i saw tekken, they took something soooooo good, and made it sooooooo bad. where the fuck did the invisible dinosaurs come from anyway? they werent in the game! velociraptors are trendy now? what the f?! a samurai showdown nime would probably be sweet though. the street fighter 2 anime is pretty damned awesome.
First off DoA is a fun as hell fighting game. I've spent too much time unlocking all of Ayane's and Kasumi's costumes as is <3. Soul Calibur is probably my favorite 3d fighter though, I prefer weapons over hand to hand. For old school 2D I'm a big SNK freak. So Samurai Spirirt's/Shodown or KoF for me. Yet my favorite fighting game, and Sleek, as someone with "taste" you should be ashamed not to know if it, is Guilty Gear. Also a Samurai Spirits anime movie was released back in the day. Though you'd have to import it or get the Sub-titled version. Regardless just because Matt likes him some Doa isn't reason to bash him, yet a better reason would be because he spelled time "tyme" I mean what the fuck are you an eleven year old girl? Someone should smack you for that.
lol "tyme" the fact that there are costumes for every girl is just ridiculous in my opinion and one of my beefs with the series. i mean come on, what self-respecting non-hentai-obsessed-pedophile would be caught dead playing dead or alive volley ball? imo the whole marketing behind these games hinges on sex appeal as opposed to 1on1 quality. i bought the original and i thought it was awesome up to to the part where i had unlocked kazumi's last costume, then i realized how shallow the actual gameplay was. depth of wardrobe does not equal depth of combat dynamics imo. i just think its a sub-standard tekken rip off (like i said the fact that you can hit a "counter" button just takes the skill out of it) and i you can button mash with just about every character. but it is a moderately fun game, i admit, but after i'd mastered the old dude's moves i wished i'd been playing tekken for hours and not dead or alive. <ps> sorry if i came down hard on you matt, i understand you're going through that whole puberty thing and your hormones might be telling you strange things like "play dead or alive, it has breast physics." if thats what your interested in though, tekken 4 replaced the break dancer guy "eddie" with a hot-ass break dancing chica named "christie" AND you can button mash with her AND she has a thong in one of her costumes, so there you go! its like a mini-doa inside tekken 4 just waiting for you!
Wait, wait...where be this SNES rom site? I've been looking for ages, the one I used to use shut down...
Google a search for "Cherry Roms" or something to that effect. If they are still up, they are the best.
