sorry, you mentioned the American educational system. it's a total joke. nothing i learned from about second grade on was learned in school. i'm almost completely self-educated. granted, i'm also a genius, as per my IQ test, but if someone of average intelligence were to rely entirely on American public schools for their education, they would be a complete fucking moron. in fifth grade i used to regularly correct our teacher, who was prone to history mistakes. it's gotten dumbed down to the point that intelligent people now drop out and get their GED so they can move on with their lives. i was out at 16, as was another friend of mine who promptly got his GED and headed off to some Ivy League college on a full-ride.

i hear private schools are better, but i don't have any experience with them. honestly, the best educated people i know are all either self-taught or formerly home-schooled, although the home-scoolers left something to be desired in their social interactions.

Well, if in America everyone quite smart can have enough time for self-education, then I must not fear exchange program.
