Elven Tombstone disappeared

It's the first time I write in this forum and I apologize if my question was placed other times!
It's the fifth time at least I play Arcanum but it's the first time this bug comes up to me.
I took the Tarant "Elven tombstone" quest, went to the Elven Ruins, killed all bad elves, zombies and the like. Everything should be Ok, only I cannot find the Tombstone anywhere! No followers have it, I've checked everywhere in the cavern but nothing.
Can anybody help me?

What's happening is the game engine has skipped on showing the headstone. It's a small but annoying glitch.
Now, there might be a way to correct this. No promises, but this does work from time to time.

Go to your Arcanum\modules\Arcanum\maps folder.
Inside there is between 80 - 100 oddly-named files with no extention.
Delete these.
Start the game with a save made prior to going to the Elven Tomb.
You've just forced the game engine to take a fresh inventory of what's supposed to be there and, with any luck, the headstone will be right where it's supposed to be.

I'll give it a try... although I've decided to put aside this quest and I went much on the game before finding this Forum.
