Ye I juts wanted to drop by and say hi to everyone. I just registered today and wanted to use my own Avatar but I don’t know how. Does anyone know why?

 

Only special people get their own avatar.

Well I was interested in some mods. If there are any. At least a few that fix some stuff like quests and all. There's so much unfinished stuff and so many opportunities in Arcanum. So I wanted to play it again. Thought there might be someone who managed to fix all that unfinished business. Especially the half ogre quest… I so wanted to get to the bottom of that one. It’s been haunting me for days! Years even! There out there I tell you…

Individuals get issued an avatar by a casual council of well established members. This generally happens when one acquires 1000 posts, but as I stated before, it is a casual thing really, and if the mods aren't in the mood, or no one notices, then the "ceremony" of the issuing of the personalized avatar won't happen.

The individual has very little power as to what their avatar will be, and they are encouraged to basically stay out of the thread where the subject of their avatar is discussed.

There is one other way to temporary get a unique avatar. All you have to do is piss off a mod, do something annoying excessively, or just act really stupid, or do something that is just asking for it.

I wouldn't worry about custom avatars for the moment; you will never be able to directly choose your avatar unless you become a mod.

There is one other way to acquire an avatar: become a VIP. Individuals who make outstanding contributions to the forums, the fan base or the products of Troika Games will be treated as VIPs and will be issued with an avatar as a token of appreciation, even if they haven't acquired 1000 posts or been active in the forums much.

 

This "niceness" to newbies in the holiday season sickens me.

He's either extremely bored, looking for a new social network, wants to find a place where he can get excited about new stuff every day, trying to set a new world record of how long it will take to piss a forum buddy off, skimming through this forum as a psychology assignment (it's been done), or, as he says, is looking for some mods for Arcanum.

But since he hasn't actually gone to those forums yet, take your choice.

Um… I did go to those forums or rather that part of this forum where mods are discussed. Sadly no one wrote me back on it yet. It’s in the Module Discussion section.

Oh and GramGarf thx for the info. I’d rather stay with my current Avatar then. There’s no telling what might I get.
