    Pericles

He was a Greek senator and one of the better ones at that.

    Everyone prefers the Romans.

Except me; I prefer the Hittites.

    Not the same period, though.

Just commenting on the main topic of this thread, sorry, please continue your off topic ramblings.

Why would anyone seriously even WANT the rights to Arcanum? It's not like it was a that amazing setting, the game is wonderful, but if you really could make a game, why not make it in a SIMILAR universe?

What made Arcanum great, to me at least, was the amount of choises in there, and the great story. And that is something I would appreciate no matter what setting it took place in. But it's not something that is greated no matter what team you have.

Also, a action RPG? WHAT THE FUCK? The action parts of Arcanum were the worst ones, and sure it would be cool to run around shooting ogres and were-rats, but is that what made Arcanum great to you? Then I HOPE you won't get a reply from Sierra/Vivendi. I assume you weren't serious about the MMORPG part, heh, it was actually pretty funny, good joke.

I've heard of him. My history teacher mentioned him once.

I liked the brains-affecting-your-diary part, when my no-brain half ogre scribbled such gibberish in the diary that I hardly understood what it said.

Too bad the notes shifted back to normal as soon as he got smarter.

Fuck, I'd murder for a mod that made the stupid entries remain stupid. Preferably if there was some kind of "I suddenly got smart" note going on.

Oh man, I'm with you on that.

"Today, I had a relevation. I suddenly realized I'm deadly smart. Holy cow."

Or an entry saying "My intelligence has been increased, I am now erasing all evidence that I was ever less so".

If I was the character, I'd never grow smart. You're way too cool when you're an idiot.

Just try the braindead stuff when you're also of troll birth (or whatever: ugly as hell). Hardly anyone could understand what I said, and half the population of Arcanum hated me on sight.

Makes it a bit hard to do the quests or even move the story along.

No it doesn't. Just kill everything in your way and you can clear out the game, alright.

    It's not hard at all.

I did waste Bates upon meeting him, after pissing him off in response to his rant on orcish matters. That's what that whatchamacallit spirit-raising spell is for.

I finished the game without talking to anyone, so it can be done.

Exactly. The only thing you need, if you wish to follow the main storyline all the way, is to read. And fight. And since you should be able to do both, being either a half-orc or an ogre (best choices), there are no problems what so ever.

I just went and read through his thread again:

Gave me quite a few laughs.

Poor Trossy did actually have a nice soul, a good heart. Thing is, HoL might not have been the right place to evolve his ideas. My opinion might not be worth that much, but who cares?

Well he got nothing didn't he.

I mean when was the last time you heard that he'd gotten something?
