For anyone who's played a Nietzche background character (or understand what exactly critfailchance applies to), what does it affect? Or more simply, what skills doesn't it apply to, and what else besides skills does it apply?

Does it apply to dodge, prowling, haggle, or persuasion? Does it apply to casting spells or making tech items? Anything else?

I'm trying to figure out what the Nietzche background (critfailchance +20) does and what would happen with a character of say critfailchance +100 be like...

I think but I am not sure that it applies on weapons and thief action.

Not in casting spells or trading.

anytime you do anything you have a chance of failure. NOW you have +20 percent change to fail. If you look in the manual, you'll see all the bad things that can happen when you crit fail.

some bad comes with some good

    Your choice!

I have a Poster Child pacifist. I figure he won't get many crit misses as he does not fight. I have yet to notice any increased failure rate or crit failure rate on lockpicking.

EX points are NOT hard to come by if you fight. Even if you just use Stun & let your party do the killing, level 50 will be made. If you go Poster Child & fight at all, your first 20 levels will be puncuated by trips to SH & Doc Roberts. After that, Vergil will be able to clean up the scars, & you will only have to see Doc for the Cripiling injuries.

Never give a Poster Child a Filiment Sword. :D

Thanks! That's consistent with what a character I made (with critfailchance +100) is doing. Critfailchance only appears to apply when attacking NCPs. I don't think it applies to non-combat skills, and I suspect it doesn't apply to attacking inanimate objects.

I have a level 49 Evil Mage Poster Child (master temp, conv, divin, force, ment, met) and with magik, no matter what kind u use, there's no probability to fail. I really think this is the only background that applies to a mage. u get to higher levels really fast so u can use good magik (however my fav spell is harm, is almost the only one i use when attacking)
