When a dwarf learns firearms or lock picking to their maximum, does he become better then a human who had also maxed his firearms or lock picking skills? Oh and if the dwarves have penalty on dexterity, does it mean that their maximum dexterity will be one point less then the one of the humans and 2 points less then the max dexterity of the elves?
Actually, I think that's wrong. Even though the bar is maxed out, and it appears to have no extra advantage, each bar is worth 4 points. If a Dwarf has a tech bonus, then he gets 1 or 2 points bonus. THis means that although the bar stops at 5 bars, it's actually at 21 or 22 points, rather than 20. This does actually give you a slight bonus over the other races, with no added tech bonus. It's the same with all skills. For example, if you use light fingered gauntlets but you've already got 5 bars in pickpocket, you'll still get up to 22 points, rather than 20 points (depending on your MA) and it will still make PPing easier than when you're not wearing them. You just can't see the bonus, that's all.
Hey, I just know how to proove it! You have cheat a human character and give him 20 perception and full firearms mastery, then a dwarf and do the same, then just in the crash site at the same time (daylight I mean) aim at any wolf at the same distance... then if the dwarf gets even 1% more than the human it means those bonuses exist! Physics basic, all variables equal, except for the one you want to test... and this variable would be the race as it holds different bonuses! ...Well, I might try it, if someone finds a flaw in my theory, tell me.
Another test is with racil or background bonuses to mele. The little target TH is there too. Then there is testing with a mele or firearms Master before & after the final blessing.
Bonus in firearms and lockpicking isnt the ONLY thing. Dwarves are the only 1s who can reach 115 tech aptitude, and whatever they make is slightly stronger(only things like bombs and chemicals, may extend effect length of theuropathics but not its bonus) It's just like Elven magic being slightly stronger because they can reach 115 magic. The ONLY WAY I KNOW to reach 115 without being dwarf(4 tech) is cheating
