I used to post alot on DaC, but not much anymore. Bunch of people overthere mistake it for a chat room, as in they hang out there several hours just waiting for someone to reply to a thread, instead of just dropping in and replying to what they find interesting and give other people a chance to reply too. Annoys me.

That can be fun occasionally Keeng. Occasionally mind you. And this is pretty much the first forum I've seriously participated in CBR, so I don't have an alternate identity at DaC.

It can, but some times it's nice to get a little more than just a bunch of pages filled with LOLs and smilies. Plus there were certain... Agitators there with whom i got off on the wrong foot.

It has been going in a better direction however, especially after god (aka Tim Cain) dropped by and all. There's actually been quite a stir in the Fallout community lately, i hope they top it off with a Fallout 3 announcement.

    Yes sir!

It's never gonna happen, is it? Nah, didn't think so.

I'll just hope Lionheart will turn out to be a good game.

Damn, I'm asking for a flaming here but ... I think I'm losing interest in computer RPG's. The last two I've played (NWN, Morrowind) have been good for a few hours play before I realise I'm just repeating a sequence of move, pickup, talk (i.e. click dialogue options), fight, move on. It's crazy, because I quite liked both game engines and Morrowind even had a high degree of originality, but they just didn't hold my interest. There was no excitement.

I think both games seemed to easy. There was no danger of failure and the decisions to make seemed either obvious ("Should I complete the quest?" ... duh) or inconsequential ("Which guild/faction should I join?" ... any ones I damn well like).

You could always do what I do and make your own mod. :D
If you have a couple of thousand hours to spend on it that is :(

I have recently lost faith with a gaming magazine over here. They had their Top 100 Games of All Time feature in their latest issue, and they named NWN as the best game of all time. The bastards didn't even have Fallout or Fallout 2 in the Top 100 either. Admittedly, one of the criteria was to be able to find the games on the shelves, so that could account for it, but to name NWN the best game ever is going too far. The game has only been out for a month at best, they cannot possibly judge the game the best ever of all time based on that. It hasn't proven is longetivity or anything like that yet, people aren't praising it's originality, and it's entering the market among so much hype (and a very revitalised RPG genre) that most of the people buying it probably bought it because someone else said they should, and not because they read about it and thought this was something they'd like to play. Impulse buyers piss me off for some reason.

Anyway, back to the point, I no longer respect this magazine's opinions - only one of the staffers actually bothered to include Fallout or Fallout 2 in their top 10 of all time list. The magazine has changed, the people who wrote for it when I learned to appreciate and respect their opinions are no longer there. The time has come to find a new magazine, or at least wait until these writers piss off. About the only good thing was Arcanum coming in at number 31. Deus Ex was relegated to no. 3 or 4 for fuck's sake! Every other year it was no. 1.

This is probably an extension of a post I have yet to write in that other thread about games and stuff.
