After a long long break, Solaris's Funny News Agency is back with another incredible story.

    German unveils anti-ageing beer

It must be every drinker's dream and it has now become a reality, at least if you believe the manufacturer.

Keep young and beautiful by drinking beer - that is what Bavarian entrepreneur Helmut Fricher is promising.

Anti-ageing beer was presented to the world at a German agricultural fair this week - a drink which the brewer says will bring body and soul into harmony.

But the new wonder drink may fall foul of Germany's oldest law, the Beer Purity Regulation.

The anti-ageing beer that Mr Fricher presented to the Green Week trade fair in Berlin is supposed to help strengthen the immune system and make you feel good in a way that other beers just do not.

    Additives

It is brewed in the normal way, but then key ingredients are added.

There is spirulina algae, which, as the German version of Men's Health magazine notes, is well known to health fanatics as an extra source of minerals.

Another key element is the protein flavonoid, which is supposed to work against cancer.

But this great hope for health-conscious beer lovers has encountered a legal problem.

The Reinheitsgebot, the world's oldest valid law, dating from 1516, states strictly that beer can contain only four ingredients: hops, barley, yeast and water.

A court hearing in the next few days is likely to order Mr Fricher to rename the product.

Bah, like that would be something new! We all know that people get uglier when they grow older, and it's an unquestionable fact that you'll consider the image you see in the mirror a lot comlier after a couple of pints. So, in conclusion, beer has always made people younger, albeit only for a limited time.

A beer that makes you younger? What other vices will people try to push off as healthy or good? Soon their will be a cigarette that cures cancer. In America K.F.C.*Kentucky Fried Chicken* just started putting up commercials that eating Fried Chicken will make you lose weight. The only way to lose weight is to get off your fat ass and exercise. Plus, I wouldnt want to think everytime I drink I'm doing something good for me. The whole point of drinking is to get smashed, embarras your self in public, and not remember a damn thing. Who would have guessed that I would get in a fight to protect my bag of Red Vines*Licorice*.

Fish, that isn't the reason your supposed to drink. Your supposed to drink for the flavor, not the icing. I can't stand getting iced. Semi-iced? sure, but not fully iced. That's not fun int he morn.

No, you drink to get drunk. No alcohol tastes good at first, it becomes an acquired taste. Drinking is done for the effect alcohol provides, not because it's damn tasty.

I said acquired taste, which means that it tastes good once you get used to it. I've yet to meet someone who, upon first tasting beer (or any other type of alcohol), thought it tasted good.

then you're a freak. i still can't stand vodka, and i used to hate beer... i'm still picky in that department, corona or heinekin only, but i've developed a fondness for whiskey... the scots-irish in me coming out, i guess :) rum is also passable straight, but i prefer it mixed...

Heinekin? You actually LIKE that stuff? Holy crap! The only time I can drink it is when it's so cold that you can't actually taste the awful flavour it's got. It's also the colour of piss, which is just wrong.

Yarr!! (I have played WAAAY too much Tropico 2) I disagree with you. I like rum, and I've been a fan of it since I first tried it. I can't stand most beers, most (CORONA) taste like piss water. Rosenshyne, if you want a different taste with rum, get some Kahalua, and mix with about half/three fours of a glass of rootbeer. Be sure to stir it, otherwise it doesn't mix. pretty good drink, actually. :D Other wise just tip the bottle back, and drink it straight.

New years eve was the best day ever at my old job, my friend brought in a 2 liter coke bottle half full of rum and we had rum and coke all night. (we got off at 9, so it was a nice warm up for the activities that followed later that night.)

(btw, this little party had nothing to do with me getting fired, none of our bosses noticed us, and none of us got drunk at work, especially me, i never drink myself stupid)

hey Jar..............I actually agree with you on something

heinekin is gross for the most part..............But I must attest!! If u have not yet tried Heinekin Special Dark then give it a go. I thought it quite good 1: for being a dark beer and 2: for being a heinekin

and I love Jack............always have (could be something more to this!?)

From the limited alcohol exposure I've had (sadly), I love Bailey's....ggallllllaaaaaaaaarrrrrrgggghhhh.....but since I can't really get that often, I'm partial to bourbon and coke. It's actually not that great to me, really...but what do ye sacred over-drinking-age friends suggest for someone who knows basically nothing?

    [Edit] - I'm 15...mein parents won't get anything too heavy :) .

Well, I've always been rather fond of mead...

You'll have to brew it yourself though, and that may or may not be legal were you live. Otherwise, you only need water, yeast, honey and patience.

Other than that, I can't give you that much of an advice, because I'm not a heavy drinker - I prefer to keep my head clear at all times. I've got far too drunk at two times in my life and I wouldn't want a third to happen. :/
