Have you installed the high res texture package for then dx11?

 

I've seen this advertised on TV. I always feel disappointed when I see games that I'm actually interested in appearing in mainstream media. It implies that the publisher thinks they're going to be popular, and popular usually equals dumb. Same thing happened with Fallout 3. I went from "Cool, whatever this is, it's just like Fallout!" to "Oh... it IS Fallout. Oh crap." within the space of 20 seconds.

Also, when they motion capture people swinging weapons around it always looks wrong to me, because the actor was swinging a lightweight rod, and then they've substituted it in game with a massive sword or axe, but the effect is just that the weapon looks like it's made of balsa wood because it clearly isn't very heavy to the character swinging it. The Dragon Age 2 advert that I saw mostly consists of this.

That's all I have to say on the matter of Dragon Age 2.

It always bothers me when I see a character in a video game or cartoon swinging a sword that looks like a 5-foot-long steel 2x6 with a handle or wearing armor plates that would look right at home mounted on Abrams tank.

 

I did write to Bioware asking whether they had any openings for a general computer game consultant who would point out all the mistakes they were making as they made them, but I never heard back. So now I just give the benefit of my wisdom to random intenet forums. Consider yourselves lucky.

Doubt it, they had completely different personalities.

 

Surely the real question is whether they had completely different genitalia.

 

At least they had some, and haven't tried to troll online forums so desperately to compensate for their sexual frustration and other insecurities.

As far as I've been able to work out, there was some disagreement over the rules of the forum. Xiao_Caity wrote a whole long set of rules that nobody liked and they refused to put it up and she got upset and left. Then after she'd gone, they all realised how awesome her rules were after all and that they really missed her hilarious anecdotes and witty repartee, so they stickied the rules to this forum hoping it would bring her back, but so far in vain.

 

Yeah.... no. Not even close.

 

Oh, wait - Xiao_CAITY? I thought you meant the other uh... Xiao... person. Yeah, Xiao_Caity. With her it was that they had an online roleplaying competition, and her contribution was judged to be the most awesomest writing ever seen in the history of mankind, so the rest of the forum members decided that carrying on posting their normal trivial day-to-day discussions in her presence was just too humiliating for them, so they set up a duplicate of the entire site and then moved everyone EXCEPT Xiao_Caity to it. So she's still gamely posting "Hey guys what's up - you're being awfully quiet these days" type things to the original forum, while you and me and everyone else converse on this one, hoping one day to become worthy to go back and be in her presence once more.

 

No Smuel we did not manufacture such an elaborate deception to fool Xiao. But talking about illusions, you are in fact the one drooling on a hospital bed about to die, hallucinating you are in front of a computer being a master troll. In fact if you listen carefully, you can hear your mother's voice calling you to wake up. You have probably already dismissed it as her annoying naggings to stop being in front of the computer all day long and go out a bit. I am sorry, it is too late for anything, you will never wake up. Only thing you can do, is to listen to your mom reassuring you that everything is alright, just before your dopamine levels shoot up, you succumb to the dream, and finally die.

Heresy such as claiming that FO3 is FO make me want to ban you again. The fact that FO3 bearing similarity is a bad thing exponents this.

 

I think the best option is to ignore Smuel, and I think there's a slight possibility that he is an alternate alias from Xiao_Caity, you see, he joined only a month ago, and he knows a lot about her... Strange...
