Christ, you know you've treaded too far into ignoramus territory when the Irish start calling you out...

Ireland is actually a well educated nation. Ireland has also had its share of important scientists:

Lol, Xiao might not like Robert Boyle, the challenger of Alchemy!

There's something of a turnoff to using the dictionary of a language that describes its breakfast as "bangers and mash." Then again, I'm american so green eggs and ham will do just fine.

YOU are the American here? Well then. I suppose I'll leave. No, wait, I was here first. You lose. Anyway, I'm relieved to know you've been making your posts out of a rather bitter sarcasm. I can actually respect that. I find the idea of hating American Engrish to be rather odd. Yes, it is different. You should be allowed to use one or the other. It's bouncing between the two that seems stupid. I can understand teachers wanting to only deal with one: the number of papers they correct, it would drive me bonkers. I would like to note, however, that I've never seen a British transfer/exchange student/etc. as the case may be, forced to convert to American English writing. We allow them to continue writing in their mildly different type-set and just accommodate it. I just find myself irked that the rest of the world can't extend that decency to us. Mind you, I made my previous remark with the intention of spurring this conversation. This is a topic that's going to be debated for ages. That's fine. I just want specific examples of what's wrong with my language. If anyone can give me this, it'll be the first time someone saying "AMERICAN ENGRISH SUXZ" has successfully done so. Please note, when I've the energy, I will respond. If I can find error in your arguments, they will be laid bare.

Wayne: make a sufficiently just-smilies post again, and I'll start petitioning Vorak/Xz/etc. for your banning. You've been here for two years. You know better.

    Actually had them.
    Taste like regular food.
It's funny what aluminum can do to eggs.
Especially those field ration containers and powdered eggs.

Soft? Moi? Never. I was merely preoccupied with the vast amounts of mindless paperwork involved in ensuring that I will be able to get a job and pay my bills.

As much as I hate to admit it, some things do take precedence over returning my banter!

And GarmGarf did have to spoil my nonesense with facts and research, didn't he?

All versions of English being equal, I suppose the only quality one can demand is consistent commitment to one or another. I would violate this criterion as I express myself in the American fashion but insist that "grey" just looks better with an "e" in it.

I already knew the Irish have contributed much to science. I study Chemistry and Physics.

The Irish only know the chemistry of boiling potatoes. And if that is English they speak their accent makes it impossible to tell.

Perhaps "facts with citation" would have been more appropriate.

I updated my website for Saint Paddy's day, I guess this is related to the Irish somehow.

Also - Nice-looking place you got there, Yuki. :)
