Does Spell School Level matter?

Heya!

I was wondering, does further improving your level within a certain spell school improve the earlier spells in the school? Or does the power of your spells only depend on your actual Magickal Aptitude ("MA")?

Let's say I'm already at 100 MA, will further upgrading Force all the way to Disintegration help increase the effectiveness of Shield of Protection?

If I'm not mistaken, your actual Degree Points in Technological Schematics for a particular subject does matter, but what about Magick?

It is only your MA, unlike technology which does not perse improve the construction of the lower schematics, but improves yoru knowledge as to create custom items outside of the regular schematics.

Hmm, a related question: Does Willpower affect spell effects? According to the manual, it appears WP only serves as a limiting factor for your spell selection.

 

You gain resistance and eventually immunity to some spells as your willpower gets higher. But that's pretty much it.

 

You also get more fatigue when you put points in WP, if memory serves.
