Does anyone here know if there are any Arcanum scenarios ou

out there.

Hey guys.
I have seen an extra short scenario that the guys from troika inserted into the game.
Does anyone knows about more such things (official, from fans, and from any other source you could think of)?
I'm not talking about different mods. I'm talking about more content.
New maps and new adventures whithin Arcanum's world.

This is a more serious expansion pack for the stock game than Car-Arcanum is, with an attempt towards making the new additions seem as if they've always been there. Now it is a work in progress, so there's still quite a bit to be fine-tuned, expanded, contracted, or even replaced, but it's worth a look-see.

Among other things, it offers access to Vormantown, Cattan, and the little island south-west of Despair, a way to return to Despair, return from the Void, 18 new areas to explore, remodeled versions of the Uncharted Cave and the Iron Clan, and 2 Halfling communities with appropriate buildings.

Of course, version 4.4 should be available any day now, so you might want to wait just a bit. It corrects a couple of annoying things wrong with the 4.2 version.

If I'm wrong about what you're looking for, let me know.

 

Oh yeah.
This is one of the things I was talking about!
It seems very nice.
I was also talking about a seperate content, one that does not involve in the main story or with the player charachter from the main story.
Something completley new with a new world map (perhaps a different continet), new towns, new plot,
more usage of the "Scenario Creating" packs the developers have released.
Like what happened with NWN.
Frankly, I'm quite surprised that such a jewel like Arcanum, who is truly unique even among its great peers (like Baldurs gate,Fallout etc...), since it is the only steam punk crpg I know of, haven't gathered at least the same following and community as NWN.

You mean other mods, right? That's the only way you can find other content that's completely distinct from the main game. You can find those in the downloads section of this site.

As for the expansion of the main game, you should indeed go with rroyo's A:WIP. If you have any comments or questions, rroyo is really good about responding to them.

 

Wait a second.
Doesn't a different mod means just a change in the gameplay? I mean new balance, sometimes new items, sometimes new units, and in rare ocassion- where it's not part of the main code- new spells.
What I am looking for, is completely new *stories*.
Isn't that what a new mod means?...

So the modules on this site are hack free? (just stories).

And are there more modules out there or does this site concetrate every thing that relates to Arcanum in existence?

ps. Do you know if the mods in here work with patches like the one from from Droog?

If all goes well, the 5.0 version will enclude the complete Arcanum patch and maybe even the extras.

Anyway, you are still at the 4.4 stage, so it will be quite a while before the 5.0 comes on.




By the way,I've looked for the Car-Arcanum patch you mentioned earlier, and I haven't found it here in the downloads. Did I miss something?

 

Yes on Drog's extras and yes on it'll be a while before 5.0 comes out.
4.4 has about 3/4 of a May release included, but there are numerous things that I need to integrate.

Car-Arcanum: I suppose the file name can be a bit misleading. Anyway, here it is:

Oh, now I see the patch.

Well, I'll try to drag my feet and take as much time as I can before installing Arcanum, hopefuly it will be finished then.
At the moment I'm finishing Arx Fatalis.
