Canis! Don't be so cynical! those small dogs can be VERY useful! Not ONLY do thier bellies gather up anything that is on the floor (some of the species, not saying the above mentioned ones for sure), but the long-haired ones can easily be attached to a handle (I'll leave that to your imagination) and dipped in a bucket so you can mop!

:) I've frequently fantasized about ramming a stick up my mother's Bichon's butt for just that purpose. I also wanted her to name him "Fluffer", as he's just the right size to rub against the genitals and I thought of hiring him out to the local porn industry.

They do have their uses, but I refuse to acknowledge them as Dogs.

And just what is your criteria for calling something a dog?... cold wet nose, tail, goes "woof", pretty much does it for me..... I also call that a dog.

~edit~ and where's that pic of your boobie?

Well, I figure, you've got a wolf. You need to domesticate it so that it doesn't, like, eat you in your sleep, but otherwise the more wolf-like the better. I like dogs that are intelligent, athletic, and recognizable as a wolf. Being a snob, I regard tiny stupid yappy dogs not as dogs but as monstrous freaks of artificial selection gone horribly wrong.

Would you believe on the memory card of my digital camera which I smashed spectacularly this afternoon? I really just ought to get a scanner; they don't cost much these days and they're safer.

As a proud owner of a Cavalier, I find that quite offensive. Now Barney, he is a Nazi.

Not unless it also goes by the name of tonsilitis I haven't. I get sore throats, but only when I get a cold. I don't get any of that other shit that was listed on that page.

tonsilitis huh. must be an australian thing... uh, you are australian, right? for some reason i'm not sure.

here in the states strep throat is a magnificent illness that everyone gets. and when you wanted to stay home from school as a child, you could always say you had strep throat and your mother would poke and prod but never be the wiser. ah, memories.

yeah, strep was a great excuse... unless you actually got it, and then life sucked for the two weeks it took to get over the damn disease... a fortnight of sore throats is highly unpleasant.

I can say with all honesty that I believe I have never had strep throat. I had tonsilitis once, but I'm pretty sure that's a different problem, seeing as heaps of people get it.

contrary to what riciky thinks, everybody doesn't get strep. everybody gets a sore throat at least once, but strep actually isn't related to the common sore throat at all. that's caused by a cold virus. strep is what happens when your body is weakened from being ill, and bacteria form a nice colony in the back of your throat that generally highly resistant to anti-biotics, extremely painful, and accompanied by a high fever. if untreated, it paves the way for brochitis, and eventually pneumonia. and once you get strep, you're more likely to get it again. my mom has it every damn winter, and she gave it to me as a child, so i get it every now and then.

Well if you'd read the thread you'd notice the discussion about how Cavaliers were bred from Cockers, which carry strep throat. We like to stray semi-off-topic around here; it's part of our culture.

And honestly, don't you think "Cavalier" and "disease" go hand in hand?

I have just learned an important fact: All topics here go off-topic one day
