    The bear seems to be one of the best things you can get. I've heard that there's also possible to obtain a wolf, but I haven't seen it yet.

    Net isn't useless.
    My brute always uses it on pets and they stay put.
    The bear was no problem.
    What I hate are the brutes with the health potions. *grrr*

    Dunno what to say about my brute. It seems as if though the feats gained aren't completely random, but centered around a theme selected for that particular brute. My brute is fast as hell and has gained three speed-enhancing feats of various kinds. This would have been awesome, but my problem is that of pure, raw stopping power. I might be an artful dodger, intercept your attacks with attacks of my own and frequently score several hits in a row owing to my grande vitesse, but this just doesn't matter when you're a scrawny piece of weakness with nothing but a basic sword.

    It irks me, that sword. Every single brute I've encountered has had a bloody arsenal at their disposal, wheres I'm stuck with the brute equivalent of the Wooden Sword in The Legend of Zelda.

    I get that too. A lot. Hate it.

    I'd just like to say 'fuck the mace and chain'.
    Two hits, dead.
    Much worse than any club I've come across.

    As far as progression:
    Started with shuriken.
    Then an axe, Vitality, a net, 6th sense.
    My agility and speed seem to be slowly going up (both at 5 now), while my strength is staying at 3.

    If he had the fight with Vorak might have gone differently.
