Pants name, isn't it? Does anyone know if the game lives up to it?

For those who don't know (all of you, possibly), it is a new RPG game. It has been described as Ultima inspired. Relevant facts, as you may see it:

    - 2D graphics
    - Single player game
    - Single character game (no parties)
    - Very interactive environment (you can move barrels and stuff)
    - Claims to have many sub-plots and side quests (don't they all?)
    - Item generation is random (suggesting an old-school treasure focus)
    - Claims to have a load (100 or so) skills (don't they all)
    - Character stats look a bit like Diablo 2 to me
    - Developed by Larian Studios (small German or Belgian company, I think)

I was surprised to see it in the New Releases section of my local Game the other day, and not heard anything about it before then.

    Sites:

    World of Divinity

    Divinity official Site

I don't have the money to buy it, so I'd appreciate it if someone could try it out and tell me it was not worth buying.

Will positive opinion make money appear in your pocket? :p

Sorry, Sheriff didn't play it. First I have to get my hands on Morrowind, Frotnline Attack and some neat adventure game.

A positive opinion may encourage me to "borrow" from my brother.

If you find a neat adventure, you should post its title. I haven't played a decent adventure for ages and really have a hankering.

If I can find it again, I'll check it out. I saw it around just the other day, but it looked alot like Diablo so I decided to pass on it. I didn't know it was Ultima like, otherwise I would've grabbed it.

Same with me. I consider getting Longest Journey as I never played it (I restrain so far because it's been translated to Polish).

    Syberia seems promising too.

I've got to get mine to pay me back.

I'm trying to not get any new games for a while, but if I hear anything, I'll let you know.

I'm considering "renting" it from Game. THeir 10 day return policy is a real nice deal.

    hire good for me

lucky you sheriff. The policy at shops here is "you open it and you're stuck with it".

But then we can hire PC games from video stores and the like. I heard you can't do that in other countries#

How dare you think i just hire games and copy them and get a crack off certain web sites that will remain nameless.

#Ignore last paragraph if you can.

I just got it to day. You can run it on directdraw 8.1 if the 3ddirectplay give
you problem. I just start to play it is so far than nice game. It take up 2.6
billion bytes of harddrive space the nice part you donot need to change cd disk when location change happen. You only need the gameplay disk in the
CD player. It have 2 installment disk.

Enough with the minor operational chat, what's the game like? Are you enjoying it? Is it fun? Is it just another RPG or does it have that special something?

It is than very good game with than well thought out story than plot. It doesnot have as many spell as other games but all the spells useful. The three class can learn each skills all except each class one special abilitry.
I just download than patch which correct some minor ploblem dealing with than few rare bug which can strike than few computer plus make the boss monster alitte bit easies on the easy level. Graphic are ok an you can change
    the gamma on the video.

video store likes cheese with toast

It certainly looks good and it's 2d. I like 2d games more or is it that i haven't played any good 3d ones yet?

Anyway here's hoping the video store down the road gets it cause games are just far too expensive to buy (unless it's like fallout, which is priceless). Yay for the video store down the road.

My brother bought it a few days ago and just rang me to glaot about how good it is. He describes it as Diablo plus role-playing, which sounds attractive to me. All you Diablo bashers might want to steer clear, but I'm off out to get it tomorrow.

I'll let you know. Are we having the Type Thingâ„¢ Awards again this year? I'm just asking in case this turns out to be a candidate in some way.
